Description
The Hagstrom Deuce Electric Guitar offers ultimate fret access, a multitude of tonal options yet retains a classic, timeless look. The mahogany body has a carved maple top and a set mahogany neck for improved sustain. The neck has a radius of 15" and features a composite material called "Resonator" for the fingerboard, which improves on the feel and tone of ebony. Dual Hagstrom Custom 58 pickups are wired to a 3-way switch on the upper bout with 2 Volume controls and 2 Push/Pull Tone knobs to engage coil splits. A tune-o-matic bridge and special Hagstrom die-cast tuners keep things perfectly intonated.
Hagstrom was originally founded in Sweden by Karl Erik Hagstrom. All designs are still approved by Mr. Hagstrom himself. The wood comes from North America, and the hardware is purchased from top US and Korean suppliers, while pickups are developed in Korea according to K. E. HagstromËœs exact specifications.
The result is a range of stunning instruments that look and sound almost identical to the originals. This may come as no surprise knowing that they are built using the original machines or exact replicas of the machines used to build the legends of yore. Only thanks to this approach was it possible to keep using those time-tested bridges, tailpieces and even the original Hagstrom logo. Even the machine heads, albeit with slightly smaller and thus handier buttons, are back, as is the legendary H-Expander truss rod. But there are also new features, like the Resinator-Wood fingerboard whose resonance and sustain qualities are far superior to anything ebony or rosewood can offer. Quality and expertise are fused into exceptional instruments whose price tags are nevertheless bound to come as a pleasant surprise to musicians.
