Built by expert luthiers, this guitar captures the soulful, classic vibe Gretsch is known for while offering modern performance and playability. From its timeless tortoiseshell binding to the TV Jones Power'Tron Plus and Gretsch Dynasonic pickups, every detail reflects a commitment to tone and tradition—a true masterpiece for players who demand nothing less than extraordinary.

An Inspired Tonewood Pairing: Flamed Ash and Mahogany

This stunning Gretsch Custom Shop guitar starts with a foundation of authentic Michigan mahogany—a tonewood prized for its warm, resonant low end and rich midrange character. It's topped with premium flamed ash, adding both visual flair and tonal brilliance, providing a brighter edge that cuts through the mix with clarity. The hand-rubbed oil finish enhances the natural grain, offering an organic, satin-like feel that's as beautiful to touch as it is to behold. Beyond aesthetics, this finish allows the wood to breathe, contributing to the guitar's lively, open tone. Whether you're digging into bluesy leads or laying down shimmering chords, this unique combination of tonewoods ensures a dynamic, harmonically rich voice that stands out in any setting.

Mahogany Neck Delivers Smooth Playability

The True Timbre Jet's mahogany neck offers the perfect blend of stability and warmth. Shaped into a comfortable C profile, the neck feels familiar and fast—ideal for both intricate solos and chord-heavy rhythms. The ebony fingerboard enhances the feel with a smooth, sleek surface that facilitates effortless playability. With a 12" radius and vintage-style frets, it supports expressive bends and lightning-fast licks. Mother-of-pearl thumbnail inlays deliver classic Gretsch aesthetics, while cream side dots ensure you stay on track under stage lights. From shimmering open chords to upper-fret lead work, this neck is built for comfort, performance and a touch of vintage sophistication.

Powerful TV Jones Power'Tron and Dynasonic Pickups

Combining vintage sparkle with modern punch, this Gretsch Custom Shop guitar's pickup configuration offers a wide tonal palette. The bridge houses a TV Jones Power'Tron Plus—a hotter, more aggressive version of the classic Power'Tron—designed to deliver muscular mids and tight low-end response, making it perfect for rock, blues and country leads. In the neck, a Gretsch Dynasonic pickup brings vintage single-coil warmth, with clear highs and a woody, dynamic character that shines on clean passages and soulful solos. Paired with master volume and tone controls, plus a three-way selector, you can dial in everything from smooth, jazzy warmth to snarling overdrive—all while maintaining the unmistakable Gretsch clarity and bite that guitarists love.

Vintage Appointments With Modern Performance

Classic styling meets performance-driven hardware in the True Timbre Jet. Tortoiseshell binding and a matching pickguard capture an old-school aesthetic, while the chrome hardware and G-Arrow control knobs offer timeless Gretsch elegance. Grover Imperial tuning machines ensure precise tuning stability, and the Adjusto-Matic bridge provides accurate intonation and a comfortable playing feel. Paired with a Bigsby B3C tailpiece, you get that iconic, smooth vibrato action—perfect for subtle warbles or dramatic pitch bends. Every detail, from the hand-rubbed finish to the vintage fretwork, reflects the expert craftsmanship of the Gretsch Custom Shop, ensuring this guitar isn't just a showpiece—it's a stage and studio workhorse with the looks and sound to inspire.
