The Gibson ES-335 semi-hollowbody electric guitar continues a legacy spanning over 60 years of versatile sound. With its iconic semi-hollow maple construction, comfortable neck profile and calibrated humbucking pickups, the ES-335 delivers exceptional playability and tone. First released in 1958, the ES-335 set a new standard for electric guitars by blending the warmth of an acoustic with the punch of an electric. Gibson ES-335 Dot Neck Detail

Hand-Rolled Neck and Premium Appointments

The Gibson ES-335 electric guitar features a hand-rolled mahogany neck with a rounded C profile that feels smooth and comfortable in your hands. Combined with the rosewood fingerboard and pearloid dot inlays, it provides a playing experience reminiscent of Gibson's early electric guitars. The neck is paired with premium components like vintage-style tuners with pearloid buttons for rock-solid tuning stability. The luxurious appointments give the ES-335 Dot a high-end, custom feel, while also honoring its heritage.

Gibson ES-335 Dot Pickup Detail

Versatile Calibrated T-Top Humbucking Pickups

This guitar is equipped with a set of calibrated T-Top humbucking pickups that deliver quintessential Gibson tones, from warm and rounded to an edgy snarl. Inspired by the highly sought-after pickups Gibson made from the late '60s through the '70s, these pickups use Alnico 5 magnets and are wound to vintage specs. The traditional 3-way toggle switch lets you go from rich, full humbucking tones to the airy snap of split coils. The ES-335 gives you exceptional tonal flexibility to handle blues, rock, jazz and anything else you want to play.

Gibson ES-335 Dot Bridge Detail

Stable ABR-1 Bridge and Stopbar Tailpiece

The hardware on the ES-335 provides rock-solid tuning stability and sustain. It features an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge paired with a solidly anchored stopbar tailpiece. This combination minimizes unwanted vibration for clear, focused tone. The lightweight aluminum bridge and stopbar also allow your guitar to resonate freely. Whether you're bending strings or holding out long sustain-drenched notes, you can rely on the ES-335 to stay in tune.

Gibson ES-335 Dot

A Lightweight, Resonant Semi-Hollow Maple/Poplar/Maple Body

The three-ply maple/poplar/maple construction of the ES-335 is a tried-and-true formula for resonant tone in a lightweight package. F-holes allow the semi-hollowbody to breathe naturally. A solid center block increases sustain, reduces feedback, and provides focus and punch across the tonal spectrum. The classic body shape and elegant lacquer finish make the ES-335 a stunner on stage.

With its semi-hollow maple construction, hand-rolled mahogany neck, versatile pickups and stable hardware, the Gibson ES-335 gives you the acclaimed tone that influenced generations of music. Its premium components make it a joy to play while honoring the guitar's heritage. If you're a guitarist who wants iconic sound, order the Gibson ES-335 today.

Gibson ES-335 Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar Vintage Burst

Guitar shipped UPS. Unboxed it that same day. Was in perfect condition. Gibson hardcase with red velvet interior box candy included a cheap strap, a universal truss rod adjustment tool, literature and a picture of the guitar at the factory. I plugged it in and after a few amp adjustments on the low gain clean side with reverb and delay began to play. The strings are new 10s, it came tuned down for shipping, I tuned it up and played a few licks. The action is low and does not buzz, truss rod is perfect, annotation perfect, finish perfect. The sound is incredibly clear jangly and tasty unlike any of my other guitars. The T type pickups are unbelievably good. I haven't really tried putting heavy gain on it but I did notice the more gain the more effective the tone knobs become. But even clean the tone and volume adjustments are noticeable more than most guitars. Overall I am very happy with the purchase, I believe I will choose this guitar over every other guitar in my collection. I have played every guitar I can get my hands on and the ES 335 with the T type pickups blows every other guitar away. There is no better guitar on the market. Thank you Gibson for this instrument and thank you Guitar Center for your wonderful customer service.

Massive Fret Rattle

Guitar feels/looks great, but it's a huge let down when you get a guitar and it has massive fret rattle. Even after repair, the same rattle comes back. Then having to exchange the guitar, only to have the new one have the same rattle. Then to find out that it isn't covered under the Gibson warranty and have to pay more to fix things that should have been taken care of before it left the factory.

I have a Yamaha SA2200. My son has an Epi 335 Pro. Tried the cherry 335 today at GC Alpharetta. I realize it is handmade and is made of better materials than the Epi, but there was hardly any difference in visual or playable quality than the Epi. The SA2200 blows this thing away...

This guitar is classic, beautiful and versatile. I bought it for my son to play in his school jazz ensemble and it steals the show, but it also sounds great when he plays blues, southern rock and classic rock. My only concern is that the rest of his guitar collection is just going to collect dust!

  • Impressed so far.

The intonation was perfect and the action was set at a pretty good height. I was impressed with how well it felt and sounded right out of the box. I always have my new guitars set up but this one honestly doesn't feel like it needs it. The GC rep who helped me with the purchase was very helpful and professional. This may have been the best service I've had with GC ever.

Feels great, very nice to play. It replaced my Epi 335 Pro that I did a lot of work to, to make it more Gibson like, but this one is a whole 'nother level. Crowning touch, according to the paperwork, it was made on my birthday. This guitar and I were meant to be!

I love the neck radius and feel. The color is magical since it reminds of an era that makes me smile every time I open the case. To me, it's most comfortable playing it with a strap but sitting down is a little tough getting used to since the body is heavier and wider than most electrics. Just be careful not to get the pick guard lift caught on anything since that section looks fragile and if sitting down it's exposed to whatever is in your pocket or in that guitar curve. This Cadillac requires care too so I keep it in the case over night but when in the studio it's hanging on the wall. Room humidity percentages range from 40's-55's. I also own a Blues JR with a pedal collection and this 335 screams, but it's so sweet! So far I'm loving it, I've set up the neck myself and i haven't had to tune it since I did that 2 weeks ago.

I own a fender ultra luxe strat & just ordered this. Will the neck be a "huge" difference in feel? I played an older baseball bat type Les Paul and am wondering if it will be that big or is rounded C smaller?

All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be about 7 lbs

I just received my 335 dot today and after playing it was wondering if anyone sets these guitars up or plays them before they leave the factory of Guitar Center? It's a beautiful guitar, but plays like a chinese strat.

All of the guitars we sell come with a standard factory set up, so additional adjustments may need to be made, based on your preferences.
