An ultra-aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish recreates the look and feel of a vintage instrument, while the rounded '50s neck profile provides comfortable playability.
Authentic Vintage Replica
This 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue is crafted to vintage-correct specifications, from the aged maple top and mahogany body to the '57 Classic pickups. The guitar's ultra-aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish has been meticulously treated by Gibson's Murphy Lab to recreate over six decades of wear and tear. From its elegant gold finish to the precise body contours, this guitar looks, sounds and feels like the real thing.
Rich, Warm Tonewoods
The guitar's aged maple top and mahogany body produce a rich, warm tone with pronounced lows and mids. Mahogany transfers string vibrations efficiently, giving the guitar a resonant, full sound. The aged maple top contributes shimmering highs and clarity. Together, these tonewoods are responsible for the Les Paul's legendary thick yet articulate sound.
'57 Classic Humbucking Pickups
The '57 Classic humbucking pickups provide a balanced tone with chimey highs and tight lows. These pickups feature Alnico II magnets and enamel-coated coil wire, just like the original PAF humbuckers. In the bridge position, the '57 Classic pickup delivers an articulate, slightly bright sound with punchy mids. The neck pickup produces a warm, rounded tone with pronounced lows.
Vintage-Style Playability
This guitar's nitrocellulose lacquer finish has been treated to recreate over 60 years of aging, giving it a worn, vintage feel. The rounded '50s neck profile offers a comfortable grip for chording and soloing. The guitar also features vintage-style tuners, a Tune-o-matic bridge and a stop tailpiece for solid tuning stability and sustain.
