collapse expand iconDescription

Since its debut in 1951, the Fender Telecaster has undergone constant refinement to meet the needs and desires of the working guitarist. This Fender American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe maple fingerboard electric guitar may be one of the most complete evolutions of this time-tested, player-proven guitar yet.

Bringing touches previously reserved for Custom Shop instruments to a production guitar makes this a very special player. Start with a lightweight alder body to build a classic foundational tone. With a smoothly rolled fingerboard edge, sculpted neck heel and a satin neck finish that feels almost naked, it's an incredibly comfortable guitar to play. New Fender V-Mod II Double Tap pickups are more articulate than ever while delivering full, punchy humbucking tones and robust single-coil split sounds. The “cut” 3-saddle top-load/string-thru Tele bridge delivers classic Tele tone and feel with a stylishly sleek silhouette and flexible setup options, allowing you to tailor the tension and tone of each string to your liking.

Instantly, totally familiar but subtly different, the American Pro II Tele Deluxe is one of the most versatile electric guitars you're likely to play. Fender may well have created a new standard in production guitars with this one.

This American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe includes a deluxe molded case.

Great feel. Love the neck, very comfortable.Pickups sound great, crystal clear. Treble bleed circuits maintains tone when changing volume. It's my number 1 go to guitar right now.

This guitar is amazing! I have never played such a smooth playing neck before. I have really small hands, so neck shape is of the utmost importance to me. The deep c neck is not an issue at all and with the coated maple fretboard it allows me to fly all over the fretboard. The tone is exactly what you'd expect out of an American made instrument. Not quite a true humbucker, but with an overdrive pedal to push it you'll have exactly what you need. The wide range humbuckers offer a unique clarity in the mids that I have come to love. The single coils offer a beautiful fender tone. It's important to note that these pick ups are what I would describe as perfect blend between a humbucker and single coil. They arent "true" humbucking or single coil, but instead gives you a unique crisp sounding tone. All guitars have cons, such as some prefer a different bridge and locking tuners. The instrument has played amazing for out of the box but I know some have had issues with slight intonation. Luckily, the cons of this guitar can all be modified. Overall, the guitar plays so amazing and you can get so many cool tones out of it. Would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a Fender.

I've never even considered a Tele Deluxe. But something about the color (more of an off-white than a cream as the photos would suggest), the black pick guard, large head stock, and maple neck, caught my eye. A definite 70's vibe. Then when I felt it, played it and heard the double-tap pickups, I was sold. Right out of the box, mine had a fair amount of oxidation on the frets. But after a little polishing, they felt great. And the action was set at least 3 turns of the Allen screws too high. This guitar comes strung with 9-42 strings. Combined with the narrow tall frets, fretting an open chord near the nut causes the low strings to go out of tune. But put on a set of 10's - or even 9-48s (you can use the top-load holes on the bridge to make the strings a bit slinkier if you prefer) and this guitar finally comes to life. The neck - with its super-rolled edges - feels flawless. The push-push controls switch to single-coil mode with virtually no loss of volume. I can leave my other Tele and heavy expensive Les Paul at home and just gig with this. It's my new favorite!

I received my Fender American Professional II Telecaster Deluxe a couple of weeks ago. I ordered the Mystic Sea Foam version. What a filler finish. The rest of the Tele was in great shape - the neck has a satin finish that feels like butter. The fret work is perfect. I could find no flaws in the workmanship. One adjustment had to be made relative to low E string intonation, however. The humbucker/single coil system works flawlessly. But, past the good looks, it sounds as good as it looks. Good single coil sound, not exactly classic Tele, but I have two other older Teles for that sound. The humbuckers give you a tone that's not quite Les Paul (what is?), but is sweetly warm and rocks hard with a pedal pushing the amp or just turn the amp to breakup.

This has to be one of Fender's best offerings and most versatile guitars they've put out in quite some time. This is not "honeymoon phase" talk. I've had just about every guitar under the sun, and though I will never say any guitar is "the best ever", this guitar nails everything it set out to do. The humbucker tones are nice and creamy, and crunchy when need be. The single coil tones are among the best I've heard in the tapped humbucker world. You can get pretty much any tone you want out of this guitar. Bridge humbucker, bridge single coil, neck humbucker, nec single coil, and when you get to the middle postion you get three options with both humbuckers full on, bridge humbucker with tapped neck and neck humbucker with tapped bridge. And they all sound different...and good! And honestly, the pictures of the Mystic Surf Green DO NOT capture how gorgeous this guitar is. It almost has a "flip flop" like attribute in different lighting. Changes colors almost. I was ready to get the white one until I saw the Mystic Surf Green in person. Stunning. Oh..and the neck on these are sublime. I never write reviews, but this one deserves all the praise it can get. Don't let it be a sleeper. The dude with the 'meh' review here most definitely never even touched the guitar. But I can say anything right? Play one and see for yourself. Trust me.

The only question I have here is with the bridge. Has anyone had a problem intonating individual strings using the compensated brass "bullet" saddles? Looks like the brass saddles handle 2 strings each and adjustments cannot be made to individual strings.
