The Fender 70th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster DLX Closet Classic pays tribute to the original Stratocaster design while incorporating modern playability. This electric guitar from Fender's Custom Shop captures the vibe of the very first production line Strats from 1954. With authentic features and Custom Shop pickups, you'll experience the legendary tone that made the Stratocaster an icon.

Authentic 1954 Stratocaster Design Brings Vintage Style

From its ash body with era-accurate offset seam to its quartersawn maple neck and vintage hardware, this Stratocaster takes you back to 1954. It has the same sleek, contoured body shape with deep cutaways for easy access to the higher frets. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish not only looks gorgeous but lets the guitar resonate freely. Combined with the ash body, you'll get sparkling highs, punchy mids and tight lows. The quartersawn maple neck provides stability and sustain while the vintage-style tuners keep it in tune.

Custom Shop Pickups Recreate Legendary Strat Tone

The 70th Anniversary Stratocaster comes loaded with a trio of Custom Shop pickups designed to capture the original 1954 Strat sound. The neck, middle and bridge pickups are all custom-wound and deliver the sweet, singing tone the Strat became famous for. From warm, round neck pickup tones to quacky middle position sounds and biting bridge pickup bite, this Stratocaster gives you that vintage Fender magic. The 5-way blade switch lets you instantly access a wide range of tones.

Modern Playability With Medium Jumbo Frets

While this Stratocaster celebrates the past, it also adds some modern appointments. The quartersawn maple neck has a comfortable "Soft V" profile along with 22 medium-jumbo frets. This provides a fast, slick feel that makes playing effortless across the neck. The 7.25–9.5" compound radius fingerboard is flatter than vintage spec for easy chording and string bending. Now, you can enjoy those bell-like Strat tones and not worry about playability.

Own a Piece of Strat History

These guitars will only be built in 2024, so the 70th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster DLX is going to be a rare find. It includes a deluxe hardshell case and certificate of authenticity, allowing you to own a piece of Fender history. Experience the guitar that started a legacy which continues to inspire players 70 years later.
