I'm surprised at how well these work compared to the negative reviews I've seen. Two tips with these string wipes: 1) Wait 'til your strings are good and grimy before you use them (there's not a lot of need to wipe your strings down every time you play, unless you forgot to wash the chicken grease off your hands before you picked your guitar up) and 2) let your strings dry for a few before you slap your guitar back on, it's probably not a bad idea to go ahead and do a second wipe with a dry microfiber cloth.

A not so wonderful Wonder Wipe

Unfortunately, this particular Wonder Wipe can not compete with its brothers. I had put a fresh set of regular five string Slinkys before I met my band later that evening for practice. I used this Wonder Wipe to clean my strings after our practice and they actually took away all of the brightness and new sounds out of my strings and made them sound as if they were a month or two old. The other Wonder Wipes are fantastic and I recommend them to everyone. However, I can NOT recommend these string cleaning Wonder Wipes to people. These killed the fresh new tone of my brand new set of strings in a matter of one wipe. I have used them before with the exact same results. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a defective product before I posted a negative review. After three uses with the same results, I feel rather confident in my review. User beware!!!!

    I always wipe my strings after use - sometimes with a cloth or my shirt. Point is to get rid of moisture and residual dirt. These are a even better. And they smell nice :) Great stocking stuffer too.

    I keep a couple of these packets in my guitar case, so I have one after playing on stage and can wipe off my guitar before putting it in the case and packing up.

    I bought an Epi Les paul a month ago. Strings left my fingers black. It had gotten better as I used the guitar but this product got rid of that problem all together. Easy to use. Haven't used other similiar products do can't compare.
