Why use ELIXIR Strings

Elixir

collapse expand iconDescription

Amp up your guitar’s tone life with the same premium electric guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available. Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Engineered to endure, these nickel-plated steel electric guitar strings boast a ton of bright, vibrant presence and dynamic punch. Compared to our original POLYWEB Coating, the ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating allows a more traditionally textured, "uncoated" feel.

For a slicker, gentler feel, try a set of electric guitar strings with Elixir's original POLYWEB Coating, which also feature a warmer tone.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings.

These are absolutely the best strings out there. They're absolutely worth it. Normal strings don't last long, but this guys last FOREVER it seems. Coating has never peeled off on me on all my Elixir's, acoustic or electric, nanoweb for both. Some people may not like the feel because the coating is a microscopic tube, and thusly the strings feel smoother, but I like it. It's not hard to get used to, and I encourage anyone to try Elixir strings, they're well worth it. Only problem I've encountered is they seem to be rather fragile when compared to Ernie Ball (the brand I came from on electric) and I've had at least one on every set of Elixir strings I've owned break on me. It's not much of a problem though, they don't break immediately and individual strings are dirt cheap. Buy these strings, you won't regret it!

I am a very dedicated player, i have a Fender Left-Handed Squier and a Yamaha C40 (Acoustic), and i had the problem that my strings, since i play a lot, rusted very fast, and seriously, very very fast, i couldn't keep the 6 strings for more than a month, so, i researched a bit about stainless strings, and found Elixir, tried them out a few years ago, and though their sound is not quite awesome, but rather a bit different, they can last me up to 2 years without needing to change it. So i recommend these for your personal practice, they are excellent.

These strings are excellent. I play them in Open B tuning and it serves perfectly. Tight, but great bends on the highs, and same with the lows. Whether you play chords or single notes, its always crystal clear. And these things last almost forever. These are a must have for any guitar player looking for clear tones, long life, and silky smooth feel. Great for lower drop tunings such as D and C!

I play a lot of Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, and even some Michael Jackson. These strings are awesome for everything! I put them on my Schecter Blackjack ATX (tuned in drop D) and they are perfect. the three unwound strings have the perfect amount of bend for solos, and the three wound strings have the perfect tight tension for heavy friffing and thrash. the sound is full of bright tone and low end creating the perfect combo for anyone who loves having a deep crunch while still being able to perfectly hear every note.
