Description
Electro-Harmonix has released the Oceans 12, a dual stereo reverb pedal that provides guitarists and keyboardists with a wealth of ambient textures and spatial effects. The Oceans 12 features dual reverb engines that can run in parallel or series, each with 12 distinct reverb types to choose from. With 24 presets, this pedal opens up a world of sonic possibilities for crafting lush, dramatic soundscapes.
Dual Reverb Engines for Unparalleled Flexibility
The Oceans 12 is equipped with two separate reverb engines that can operate together or independently. Engines can be arranged in parallel for a wide, spacious stereo effect or in series for densely layered reverbs. With 12 reverb types in each engine, from classic spring and plate reverbs to shimmering octave-shifted and dynamically responsive reverbs, the creative potential is nearly limitless. Save and recall up to 12 presets for instant access to customized ambient washes and spatial effects.
Infinite Reverb Mode for Endless Sonic Possibilities
One of the Oceans 12's most compelling features is its infinite reverb mode. This mode produces an ambient reverb wash that continues endlessly, allowing players to layer new reverb textures over the top. Engage infinite reverb, then switch to a different reverb type and play over the decaying wash for dramatic, shifting soundscapes. The infinite reverb can also be shaped using the pedal's Lo-Fi and Tide controls.
Unparalleled Control Over Stereo Imaging
The Oceans 12 provides studio-level control over stereo imaging, a key component of professional reverb sounds. Use the Tide control to alter the stereo width of the reverb, from narrow and focused to wide and spacious. You can also change the stereo imaging over time using an expression pedal. These features, combined with the ability to run the dual reverbs in parallel or series, result in reverbs with exceptional depth, dimension and realism.
Connect an Expression Pedal for Real-Time Control
For maximum flexibility, the Oceans 12 includes an expression pedal input that can control multiple parameters in real time. Connect an expression pedal and assign it to control the decay time, tone or stereo width of either reverb engine. With a pedal connected, you can subtly tweak the reverb sound or dramatically transform it for dynamic, interactive ambient textures.
