collapse expand iconDescription

The ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 electric guitar is a force of artistic expression. This visually arresting instrument is crafted with tone and playability in mind, ready to inspire your creativity. The EC-1000's quilted maple top gives way to a mahogany body and set mahogany neck for robust, harmonically rich tone. Its fast, smooth profile allows intricate soloing and power chords with equal prowess. EMG-81/60 active pickups provide aggressive tone and excellent note definition so each nuance rings through. Finished with abalone flag inlays, the ebony fretboard feels sleek under your fingertips.

Quilted Maple Top and Mahogany Core Produce Powerful Tone

The EC-1000's quilted maple top is stunning to behold, but also enhances its tone. In concert with the mahogany body and neck, the guitar sings with harmonically rich tone and excellent snap. Its set neck construction yields long sustain to let each note ring. The mahogany core gives a warm, balanced tone that cuts through when needed. This combination of tonewoods produces a powerful voice to suit the demands of any style.

EMG Active Pickups Provide Aggressive Voice

The EC-1000 features an EMG-81/60 pickup set that provides an aggressive tone with outstanding note definition. The EMG-81 in the bridge position gives you a hot, punchy tone for solos and heavy rhythm playing. The EMG-60 in the neck position has a warm, articulate voice perfect for complex chords and melody lines. With a quick coil tap, you can access single-coil tones for added versatility. These pickups were designed to cut through high gain amps, giving you the output and timbre you need for heavy rock and metal.

Fast, Smooth Neck and Ebony Fretboard Enable Intricate Playing

The EC-1000's thin U-shaped neck has a smooth, fast profile that allows intricate solos, quick position shifts and barre chords with ease. Its 24.75" scale length provides tension that feels familiar to most players. The ebony fretboard contributes to the neck's sleek playability and has elegant abalone flag inlays as position markers. Whether you prefer shred solos, chunky rhythm parts or walking basslines, this neck was made to handle it all.

Premium Components Provide Rock-Solid Performance

To match its tone and playability, the EC-1000 features premium components for rock-solid performance. Its TonePros locking tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece provide accurate intonation and tuning stability under aggressive playing styles. Grover tuners work in tandem to keep this guitar in tune through long sets and frequent string bending. With its premium electronics and hardware, the EC-1000 delivers professional performance and reliability night after night.

Brilliant

When I went up to guitarcenter and played it I was absolutely amazed with everything about it. Sweep picking was a breeze. The pinch-harmonics screamed. The neck was so fast it was like playing butter. I play many styles of music and I haven't found one that this guitar doesn't go with. The sustain is flawless, I could play a note before I went to sleep, and I'd wake up to find the note was still playing. I would highly suggest buying this guitar no matter what.

Almost a perfect transaction.

I have owned this guitar many times in the past, so it is a workhorse. One of the best values at this price I can think of. My only bad experience was I ordered online and opted to pick up in the store. When I got to the store, they gave me a floor demo model. This is not usually a problem, as they are usually lower priced, but I paid for a brand new one. I didn't get a box or any paperwork for the warranty, and was just handed a guitar. The color of the bridge is already fading and it appears to have been heavily played. Otherwise it is a great guitar.

  • Plays Great - Sounds Good - More Comfortable Than a Les Paul

I bought the EC-1000 in Amber Sunburst. I was looking for a lighter/more comfortable alternative to a Les Paul Custom. After tying everything hanging on the GC wall, I was surprised to find that I liked the LTD way more than any of the Epiphones. The EC-1000 has the same scale length as a Les Paul (24.75") but a slightly flatter fretboard radius of 13.78" compared to 12" on the Les Paul. The 24 fret neck has easy access to the higher frets and is super easy to play. The body is thinner (and lighter) than a Les Paul and the back is contoured like a Stratocaster. The locking tuners are really nice and the bridge/tailpiece hardware seem to be of good quality. Pickups/electronics sound good and I can get decent clean tones if I play with the tone/coil-split push-pull knob. The guitar is made in Korea and the fit/finish is nice - nothing screams "cheap." The setup was a little high for my taste and I had to make adjustments to get the action I prefer - if you can't do that yourself I'd recommend paying for a setup as it is well worth it. Overall, I'm very happy to have spent a little more to get this guitar instead of an Epiphone. It will fit in a Les Paul case. But, the body on this guitar is thinner than a Les Paul so you may have to add some padding (a folded cloth works) to get it to rest perfectly inside of the case.

  • A professional affordable Les Paul like guitar

I have the Vintage Black finish with Ebony fingerboard. Apparently these guitars also come with a thin flamed maple top too. With the mahogany, thin flamed maple top, mahogany set neck and ebony fingerboard? Pretty much a Japanese Les Paul but essentially an ESD edition. I want it because it has twenty four frets; and that's hard to find in a Les Paul shaped guitar. This model or at the least, the one I use, can contend with a Gibson Les Paul pretty fair. It's unique in it's own way but can match Les Paul like tones excellent. The pickup's high output are definitely Metal; but doesn't mean you can't use em for other tone features. The nobs are durable and wired professionally. I'm definitely satisfied with this instrument. If you want a professional Les Paul like guitar and have easy access to Metal tones, you will not be disappointed. If you want a professional tone for not only Metal but other genre based tones, you will not be disappointed. You will have to get a gig bag or case but otherwise, you will definitely not be disappointed with this instrument.

i was use to jacksons and deans before. last time i tried to pick up an ESP i wasnt happy with the sound or feel of the guitar but this was years ago, i had first seen the EC1000 in store and was caught by the look of the guitar, and when i picked it up and played it i was sold. they didnt have the set up with EMGs so i ordered it later that night. great guitar, fun to play and love the sound. im not a huge fan of all the brass, but i also dont hate it. I look forward to adding the Black Metal EC to the collection now

The neck in the photos is bound with the same material as the body and headstock, but when it arrived it was just plain white, pretty deceiving to say the least

Hello, I'm looking into buying the ESP LTD EC1000 in black. I see on the picture that this has abalone running up the neck, but some customer images show that it isn't there when they receive the guitar. Could you confirm this is on the guitar before I decide to order? And if I ordered it, and it wasn't there, could I get a full refund in store? Thank you
