collapse expand iconDescription

The genre-defining Whammy pitch shifter from DigiTech delivers the iconic pitch shifted sounds that have been heard on over 700 million albums worldwide. Packed with upgraded features, this pedal provides single-note bends, chordal pitch shifting and classic Whammy pitch-shifting effects with pristine fidelity and enhanced control.

Classic Whammy Effects and Beyond

The Whammy allows guitarists to create the signature pitch-shifted sounds that have defined rock music for decades. In addition to the classic Whammy pitch effects, the Whammy now provides musicians with chordal pitch shifting and single-note bends for unique pitch manipulations. With settings for 2nd up, 2nd down, 4th up, 5th up, and an octave up and down, guitarists have a palette of pitch shifting options at their feet.

Unparalleled Sound Quality

DigiTech built the Whammy from the ground up to provide the highest quality tones using high-fidelity components to produce pitch shifting with stunning clarity. Guitarists will appreciate the nuanced, expressive pitch bends and ambient chordal shifts made possible by the Whammy's premium sound.

Simple, Intuitive Controls

Despite the Whammy's complex inner workings, it features a simple, easy-to-use layout. Guitarists can quickly dial in their perfect pitch-shifted sound using the Whammy's ergonomic foot treadle and effect select knob. The Whammy's minimalist approach cuts through the clutter and puts pitch-shifting mastery at your feet.

A Pedalboard Essential

There's no mistaking the iconic look of the DigiTech Whammy. For over 20 years, the Whammy has been an essential tool for influential guitarists in all genres. With its unrivaled heritage and updated feature set, the Whammy delivers an experience that inspires creativity. Love It!!!

I have a 4th gen Whammy from years ago, and loved it until the day it stopped working. Being young back then, I never filled out the warranty, so it would've costed just as much to fix it as it was to buy a brand new one. So to the backburner went the Whammy until I could afford a new one. Looks like I waited long enough! This thing is everything the 4th gen was and more! The polyphonic option for chords doesn't track as smooth as my POG2, but then again.. it is a Whammy. It responds well with the "organ" sounds created by the POG and with my Q-Tron and some overdrive, I can get extreme vocal sounds. This is a must have for any active musician or pedal junkie!

Very disappointed, but not so much with the pedal itself ...

The pedal itself is awesome, as long as you get what you actually ordered.

the clarity is very good even using a ds1 from boss and an old rp100 from digitech like the functions on it I usually use a heavy tone with the rp100 having it two octaves up made it sound ear drilling a good pedal to buy if your doing deathcore or rage against the machine covers the harmony function is very clear too you also can likely dive bomb on it and it has bypass on it too with using other pedals is a must would recommend anyone doing metal or rock to have one of them great buy!!!!!

I am considering buying either a Wah pedal or this. This will be my first pedal so I'm not sure what I need. I play a lot of rage against the machine songs. One specific song is bulls on parade. Another song recommends a Digitech whammy pedal. Can this pedal will be used for both or are these two different sounds where I need a Wah pedal and this.

You can use this for the classic single note whammy sound as well as chordal pitch shifting.

Can the Whammy work with low (40 Hz) bass notes, or only the higher tones of a guitar?

Yes, this should work on low end notes as well.
