CHAUVET DJ Obey 3 Compact DMX Controller for LED Wash Lights

Manufacturer states controller is for RGB lights but is not clear that they have to be 3-channel devices.

I use this to run 2 bars of four light par cans. The sound feature almost doesn't work at all, I have to turn the speed nearly all the way up to get it to do anything. The strobe is a nightmare, once you turn it on good luck getting it to stop, supposedly you have to turn all the sliders completely down , but this doesn't always work. Without touching the strobe button and just manually operate it, it does a decent job but that is not convenient when trying to do other things like dj-ing or running sound. In my opinion Chauvet really dropped the ball on this product.

The only thing i didn't like is the instructions manual. The controller its easy to use and the build quality is good too!!!!

this is my first DMX controller and I was able to go from box to instal and do what I wanted in less than 1 hour. I use it to control SlimPAR 56's and color bars to color wash our home theater, and it is great. I could not figure out how to adress the lights with anything different than d001, hence the 4 stars.

I picked up the Chauvet LED ColorStip Mini. 3 Channels in RGB mode. This Controller is also a 3 channel controller. Problem being that the Color Strip is really a 4 channel unit. Channel 1 determines the program for the other 3 channels in RGB mode. This nifty little controller looks like a nice product, but won't work with the Chauvet LED strips.. Kinda of a bummer since both of these units are from Chauvet. Only use this controller certain LED Pars and American DJ LED strip in Slave mode. Gave 4 stars only because of the lack of compatibility to their own products.

This is a good compact bit of gear. The only down side to the controller is if you put it on chase mode or sound-activated mode, in-between colors you get a blackout. It isn't very noticeable on a fast fade, but if you want a slow gradual fade it leaves the room colorless for 2-6 sec, depending on how slow the fade is. It is not bad for the money though.
