Description
Yamaha's MG12XUK mixer offers 12 channels of mixing power in a compact, intuitive design. The MG12XUK features Yamaha's acclaimed D-PRE microphone preamps, which provide full, natural sound with low distortion. It also includes 24 studio-grade SPX effects for creative sound processing without the need for external gear.
D-PRE Microphone Preamps Deliver Pristine Sound
Yamaha's D-PRE preamps utilize inverted Darlington circuitry to achieve high resolution and ample power at low impedance. The result is a rich, full sound with natural highs, detailed midrange and huge low end. The D-PRE preamps capture vocals and instruments with stunning realism, allowing you to achieve professional results effortlessly.
Onboard SPX Effects Provide Endless Creativity
With 24 SPX effects built in, including reverbs, delays, modulation and more, the MG12XUK provides all the processing you need for live performance or recording. Simply dial in your effect with the single control knob and tweak parameters like decay time, modulation speed or effect level. The SPX effects add depth and dimension to your mix without requiring any outboard gear.
USB Interface for High-Resolution Recording and Playback
The MG12XUK features a USB 2.0 audio interface that supports 24-bit/192kHz recording, allowing you to capture your mix in high resolution. You can also playback digital content from your computer through the mixer. The USB interface works with Windows and Mac computers, as well as iOS devices like the iPad, using the Apple Camera Connection Kit.
Road-Ready Design Built to Last
With a durable, powder-coated steel chassis and knobs recessed above the surface, the MG12XUK is built to stand up to live use on the road. It provides reliable, hum-free operation even in challenging conditions. The MG12XUK's compact, lightweight design also makes it easy to transport to gigs, rehearsals or wherever your music takes you.

Great for use in home, studio, and road
I purchased this as a multi-purposed unit. I use for single input through USB into computer for vocals, mixing multiple people speaking into one track, and as a live board handling 4-6 inputs into an array system (JBL/Gemini/RCF). The tone is fantastic, effects are adequate, and the compressor is "meh". The on board compressor is the weakest link, however, how many other small boards like this have a compressor separate from the effects? Not many. Therefore, this board gets 5 stars. I purchased on SDOTD, and it was a steal!

I had to send my mixer back!
The mixer is very compact and Yamaha is an excellent brand name. However, the preamps and USB output on this mixer offer very low gain. You have to max out the knobs to get any useable sound out of it. M at

Small band just starting up, I'm the singer and I wanted to keep the rig as compact as possible. This mixer has high quality built in compressor and some usable reverbs.
Great amp for both drums, keyboard and vocals

Replacement for an older style mixer. I basically use this in my studio that links all my audio equipment to a desktop digital recording device. I got this model because I wanted to interface to computer software through the USB output of the mixer. It had the number of channels I needed plus it had the additional' FX feature and other functions that I wanted. I also use it live sound re-enforcement from 2 guitar processors, mics and playback equipment such as CD, LP Turn table, tape deck, etc. I have not extensively used all functions or channels yet but will update if any issues. So far A++
Great no matter what size

Truthfully have yet to open the box---I've owned its smaller 4-ch counterpart for years, and have been totally satisfied with it. There than # of channels, looks identical to me
I would definitely buy this mixer again.

Does the mixer have phantom power? And would I be able to run a mic with phantom and one without at the same time?
1) No it doesn't. 2) Sure. The board won't know the difference at that point. You can pretty much run anything that produces a signal through a mixer.submitted3 years ago
