Open Box The Loar Contemporary F-Style Mandolin Level 2 Sunburst 197881282080

Despite its stripped down vibe, the LM-590-BR keeps the essentials of a great-sounding mandolin, and the solid hand-carved woods really open up under the thin satin finish.

I normally play a 1948 Martin A, but I dislike taking it out of the house. So I bought the Loar 590 for my travel Mando. Very clean sounding and terrific action. The tone is a bit brighter then I like, but some lighter strings should warm it up. The satin finish is beautiful and immaculate. This would make a phenomenal 1st Mando for someone just starting out. For the money you can't go wrong with this mandolin.
Beautiful Mandolin

This is a gorgeous instrument. Rich resonant sound and excellent craftsmanship. It has that authentic country/bluegrass mandolin "chop" sound when strumming chords and crystal clarity when playing melodic lines and scale runs. Visually, the pictures don't do it justice because in person it's looks are killer! I was looking for a grass roots country vibe no frills good playing/sounding mandolin and this one is certainly a winner! YES, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great instrument without breaking the piggy bank too much!
