I was in market to find a 5 string bass to put most road miles on as far as practice and playing out live and give my 2 Modulus TBXs a rest. This bass has everything I was looking for - active pickups, a fast/thinner neck, and a neck through design. The setup was almost perfect out of the box , no fret buzz on any frets , intonation pretty much spot on. The string height was a tad high, but I'm not going to change anything on it. Tones are great and you can dial in many sound options. This is the first Schecter I've ever owned and am already considering on grabbing a second one of these at some point . Well done Schecter!

Set up was great right out of the box. EMG pickups are top notch. The neck is wonderfully fast and flawless. Electronics are relatively simple, no switches or extra circuits. Master volume, blend, and three band equalizer and that's it. This guitar is a work of art.

Have owned a number of different bass guitars. My 1969 Fender Jazz has outlasted all the others. This is my first 5 String. Have Been told by many to avoid 5 string basses. Bad advice, the 5 strings and extra frets are wonderful. I looked at a number of basses in this price range and kept returning to this one. It has turned out to be a great decision. This is a very playable bass for all types of music.

  • How to make this bass THUNDEROUS

Throw in two soapbar humbucker pickups from Lundgren and then add a Bartolini 5.3 A/P preamp and this thing is MONSTEROUS. Requires drilling an itsy bitsy hole for freq selection switch.

My 1st 5 string. Did lots of research before selecting the Studio 5. Exceptional bass for thr money. No regrets in my purchase. Added schaller s-locks (they fit perfectly). Now ready to go!

The finish is the main difference. Electronics may vary slightly, but for the most part it's the same outside of the cosmetics.
