Rockers, hold on to your hats, because Schecter Guitar Research’s C-1 Platinum electric guitar has the heavy bite and slick style you have been looking for. Designed with a grand fusion of the most sought-after qualities of their Hellraiser and SLS models, this maple-topped mahogany design is revamped with a more contoured arch and upper access cutaway shredders will love. The Schecter’s C-1 Platinum neck is comprised of three maple parts for added strength, so you can rock out without worrying about it warping over time. Guitarists will also love the cool, transparent high-gloss black burst finish complemented by the chrome hardware.

A Body Players Will Love

The C-1 Platinum's body is a combination of beautiful mahogany with a quilted maple top and features Schecter’s Ultra Access neck joint, so players can approach the full fretboard with comfort and ease. The double-cutaway design and inset neck on this 25.5"-scale axe makes riding the lightning up and down the 24 frets of its rosewood fingerboard a breeze.

Shield of Armor Electronics

The C-1 Platinum offers its durable EMG Active 81/85 pickups for an impressive range of tonal capabilities. The creation of EMG's intensely detailed 81 pickup ignited a standard of ample high-end piercing and a smooth sustain. Used in the bridge position, these pickups will have your sound cutting through any brimming mix.

Naturally Exuberant Rosewood Fretboard

This black beauty features a 3-piece maple neck topped with a rosewood fretboard. Rosewood is a favored fretboard material because it contains natural oils that are enhanced by a player's daily grip. The sound is enriched more so than its maple counterpart because overflowing tones are essentially absorbed back into the oily wooden pores, truly balancing the tonal output. The C-1 Platinum also comes with new platinum fretboard inlays, carbon fiber binding and glow-in-the-dark embellishments.

Perfect replacement for my Squier Stratocaster

I've been playing for about 7 months and was looking for a guitar to replace my starter pack Squier Strat. I find myself playing more metal with aggressive distortion and a lot of pinch harmonics and I was dissatisfied with the distorted tone on the Squier. I looked for a guitar with a reliable brand name and something with few parts I would need to replace and a long lasting guitar. I was searching and stumbled upon this Schecter model that came stock with EMG's. I had watched several videos and read up on hardware for guitars to make sure I knew what I was buying. Grover tuners, EMG pickups 81/85, Black tusq nut, this guitar had very high quality parts for a stock guitar. The design was also incredible leaving me with virtually no option. So on a trip to the US I stopped at guitarcenter and picked it up to play. The tone of the EMG's was bitey and aggressive exactly how I wanted. The neck felt smooth and had a recessed joint for access which is extremely helpful. Played a few of my favorite riffs and couldn't put the guitar down. I played for about an hour in guitarcenter, came back the next day and bought it. Its a fantastic guitar for distorted tone however the clean tone is exceptional. Of course I do not have much experience but I know what feels good and this guitar feels good. This was a perfect first guitar and Schecter has really surprised me with the quality of the instrument.

The guitar is good but the input jack was very loose

I loved it but as I said in the heading the input jack was very loose so very time I move the sound goes out. Brought it back for a replacement same model and the two at the store the get buzz was to much The sales guy as very understanding and I finally asked for a full refund..... would I buy another one in the future yes but this time I would get a new one out of the box and test the daylights out of it. This was new but it did not come in a box I took it off the wall and was playing it sitting down hence I did not notice the loose input jack

If you are a beginner wanted to get into shredding or any kind of metal buy it. The emg pickups are nice as long as you run distortion through them the clean tones aren't anything special but we both know that's not why you're. This guitar is suitable to intermediate players and it plays very good to be honest it plays better than some Schecter guitars I've played that are double the price and I didn't get no crazy setup I strung it myself which is simple btw if you are new to this. This is very good to learn on. Last very important thing to mention is schecter's hit or miss quality control which is probably why the other guitars I played made by them were most likely just not good examples but this guitar after a couple of weeks of playing had the pickup switch go bad it still worked but sometimes it didn't I still recommend this guitar bc it's a good value and it wasn't nothing crazy great guitar still needs some locking tuners tho

My wife was looking for a lightweight guitar for learning metal songs without a whammy bar tail piece. This guitar fit the bill. It is versatile and very low noise even with the distortion cranked up.

Great guitar I'm very happy with it the sound and feel are great I've spent several hours jamming out on this guitar. The finish is top tier the setup was spot on from the moment I unboxed it. I would have no problem going on stage with this guitar and rocking out the meshing of a couple different guitars into one is a great concept.

They'll "fit" . You'll probably need to tweak your neck. 12's are heavy.

Can the pickups be split into single coil or is there a second voicing? I can't tell if either of the knobs have a push/pull function to access different tones.

The C-1 doesn't have a coil split option.
