I love my new Jetway Series Hardshell Keyboard Porter Case..

I use this product to haul my AKAI Professional MPC Key 61 keyboard. This case is solid and has padding inside to hold my piano keyboard in place. I've had this product for about 2 weeks and it's doing a great job keeping my instrument safe.

Heavy. Big. Broken.

Just purchased a Yamaha MODX8 (88 keys). GC does not carry the specific Yamaha case for this keyboard, so (against my better judgement) I selected this one, from a selection of exactly one hard case in the store. Fit: It's a good fit for the MODX8; I didn't have to remove or move any of the extra padding in the case. However - it has NO room for accessories. Even the tiny power supply for the modx just about crammed in there. You'll need a gig bag if you want to carry around a few DI boxes and pedals. Size: It's big. The MODX8 isn't exactly pocket-sized, at 52x16x6", but the case is 65x21x8. In practical terms, it means that you can't carry it up and downstairs without help - even at 6'1", I had the end of the case bouncing on every stair step. Weight: Heavy. No weight is listed on this site, but the case is 26lbs. Add to that the weight of any keyboard you have - the MODX8 is 30lbs - and 56lbs is 5lbs above the OSHA safe limit for single person carry. Build Quality: Pretty good. If I had roadies on every gig, I'd have no problems getting another of these. But for a single-person load in, and if you never fly with a keyboard - it's overkill. Issues: One. And it's a bad one. This is the absolute reason why I'm returning this beast of a case. The latches spring open when you're carrying it with any weight inside. They are the cheapest, nastiest pieces of plastic junk I've ever seen. It's supposed to be a professional case - why can't they put a proper metal flight-case butterfly latch on it? You can still put a TSA lock on those. I purchased a flight case to protect my (expensive) instrument; there isn't much protection if two of the four latches spring open as soon as you pick the case up. I don't trust the case, so it's going back to GC.

carry a keyboard for protection in it. Im not trusting in the plastic latches, afraid they will not last or stay closed

Bought this to fit a custom reverse flying V guitar. Worked great with a little tweaking of the padding.

  • I would buy this product for a future keyboard.
