This series is really such a professional sound. But I must say, the bigger the better. I never purchased any smaller than the 18 inch. So I can't testify to their sounds. But 18 and up are perfect for what I like. 15 inch high hats. One 10 inch splash. 18 and 19 inch crash. 20 inch ride. 18 and 20 inch china.
Great sound!

Was looking for a cymbal to round out my set. This one is perfect, and has a nice full sound to it. I play rock, classic rock, heavy metal and it is a great cymbal for those genres. Love it.
Love this cymbal but not for everyone

So I bought this cymbal used and it had very little sustain and was dark so I returned it and bought new. The sustain is much better. Its DARK cymbal and had HUGE sound that is explosive and very defined. I love it. I give it four stars cause it definitely has a specific sound that may not be for everyone.

First of all these cymbals(the whole dark line) are visually stunning. Second, when you get to play them, they speak in so many colorful tones that you can't stop playing them. When I first put the 17" dark crash and 13" fast hats on my kit, I was re-inspired and came up with all kinds of new patterns. I couldn't stop playing. The amount of different tones that come out of these crashes is amazing. You can use them as a ride, due to the dark tone you will get lots of clear stick definition. Third, I put an inverted mini china on top of the 17" crash and that just opened up a whole new pallet of sounds. I've played other major brands of cymbals for over 20 years and I've never been satisfied with cymbal choices like I am now. Meinl is the new king!!!

Picked up the 18 inch crash along with the 20 inch ride in this line about three weeks ago and I'm so in love! The crash is extremely responsive, with dark, cool, shimmering tones and a very even decay. I'm currently procuring the entire line of these. the effect is easily controlled by the intensity of the strike with these. At low volume playing they are smooth and cool, at higher volume they will flat out rip your head off. also, the look of these is very pleasing...seems everyone notices them. i for one have never been a fan of the look of the raw cymbal...but these have great personality. Stunning sound, stunning look, and great price. I'm a byzance convert for sure! I highly recommend these lids for any musical style, you won't be sorry. Word of advice- Each of these cymbals has their own personality...purchase them in store...and actually play them...then purchase the ones you played...these cymbals will give you your own distinct sound. Love 'em!!!!!

I bought both the 16 and 18 inch crashes from my local Guitar Center about a month ago and I am enjoying everything about em. The 16 inch crash is both dark and cutting, with a quick decay. The 18 inch is is very slick, and it has a shimmering crash with a very tasty low end tone. I have matched these crashes to the Zildjian A Custom, and the K Custom Dark Crashes and thy are a clear winner. In both price and tone. They cut through better and make for cleaner playing, no matter what style you play, these cymbals will get the job done.
