poor battery life
Line 6 hits it out of the park with the pocket pod; however, you'll be lucky to get 6-8 hrs. of battery life out of a new change of batteries. It sounds great in headphones, and even great in the studio, and even great on tape. I primarily use it with my ipod to cop new songs and to wail in the middle of the night.

Not as good as I was hoping
I was really hoping to like the Pocket Pod, since it was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to be able to play guitar in bed, or when I'm travelling, with headphones and have access to various effects and amp models. I planned on using this to come up with new songs and to practice old ones. But even though it had all the features I was looking for, I was pretty disappointed and ended up returning it after a month. Build Quality - First of all, for the price, I think the Pod is too cheap feeling. The quality of the plastic and the knobs felt like it should cost about 1/2 as much. Usability - People complain about the difficulty in accessing the features, but I don't think it's much of a problem. You can't access all of the settings with the knobs, but you can tweak them with the software available online. Given that portability is a key feature, I can't find fault in a limited number of controls. You have access to all of the features you need. Sound Quality - This is where the product completely fails, in my opinion. The clean sounds were decent, and some of the really high gain or heavily modulated sounds were neat. But other than that, all the sounds were very thin and harsh sounding. I tried downloading the most popular sounds online, and they still didn't sound good to me. If you're looking for really high gain or metal sounds, and don't mind the digital harshness, it might work for you. I have a last-gen Digitech RP250 multi-effects pedal and I find the sounds to be much warmer and fuller. I'm considering trying out the Korg Pandora, or I may just hold off until something better comes out down the road.

I love this thing! Had I known how much I was going to use it, which is EVERY night, I woudl never have invested in a new Combo Amp. I only play at home now. I record to my computer or learn new stuff from you tube or play backing tracks from you tube. I placed the Pocket Pod on a mic stand, attached an iPod, ran a Y cord and now I have the pocket pod merged with the iPod all into my headphones and off to my computer for recording. Its perfectly blended and you cannot tell that I am not a part of the band! Now, the sounds. They are unlimited if you use the software that comes with this. However, I have it down to one I like for 90% of what I do, and a couple of others depending on what I am playing. I cant say enough good things abotu this arrangement. Its just perfect. I think any bad reviews were mainly due to people trying to use it for things it wasnt meant for. BUT, if you need to play via headphones, record on an amatuer level, your search is over. Just get it!

I use the pocket pod for recording on my personal computer and it works great .I use Line 6 Amps anyway but you need to use a low amp processor to get a sound that is not overdriven which the pocket pod gives you..I find it easy to find a setting I like and it records very clean and professional. I like the battery operation but I bought the dc1 power cord because I use it at home most of the time...sometimes I record at the park with my laptop and my pocket pod and my Jackson guitar and that's all I need to make a professional recording...
Tone for days!
