Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine has teamed up with Kramer Guitars to craft his ideal shred machine. The Dave Mustaine Vanguard Rust In Peace Electric Guitar delivers the powerful, heavy sounds and fast playing performance that the legendary guitarist demands. This ax is equipped with a symmetrical mahogany Vanguard body and 25.5" scale mahogany neck for warmth and sustain. It features an ebony fretboard with 24 jumbo frets for fluid leads and improved bending. Black chrome hardware and Mustaine's signature Seymour Duncan Thrash Factor pickups provide the high-output tone required for thrashing metal riffs. Guitar Center is thrilled to offer this custom model designed by one of the all-time greats of heavy metal guitar.

Seymour Duncan Thrash Factor Pickups

Mustaine worked closely with Seymour Duncan to develop the Thrash Factor pickups. These active humbuckers produce tight lows, aggressive mids and searing highs ideal for Megadeth's brand of shred. The bridge pickup delivers punchy power chords and cutting leads. The neck pickup provides warmth and clarity for rhythm playing and soloing on the higher frets.

Mahogany Body and Neck

The Vanguard's mahogany body resonates with a thick, meaty tone that fills out the Thrash Factor pickups. Its mahogany neck offers stability and sustain, allowing notes to ring out powerfully. The combination of mahogany and ebony creates an ideal palette for painting aural thrash metal masterpieces.

Ebony Fretboard and Jumbo Frets

The ebony fretboard provides a smooth, fast surface for lightning quick runs and bends. Its 24 jumbo frets make it easy to apply wide vibrato and bend notes up a whole step and beyond. These premium features allow shredders to achieve Mustaine's signature sounds with surgical precision.

Premium Protection

A custom Dave Mustaine hardshell case is included to properly shield this ax during transport and storage. Its plush lining and sturdy construction safeguard the Vanguard Rust In Peace from damage, keeping it ready to unleash sonic devastation onstage and in the studio.

    This guitar is absolutely amazing. The picture doesn't do the finish Justice, it has a sparkly two tone and it's beautiful. I've been playing it every day for the past 4 weeks and it's been the best fretboard I've ever played on. I also have the dean vmntx to compare it to and this wins
