Description
The Ibanez AZES40 electric guitar brings the celebrated AZ series' tone, versatility and playability to beginner and intermediate guitarists. This stylish Ibanez features versatile Essentials single-coil and Accord humbucker pickups, along with the advanced dyna-MIX9 switching system for tonal variety. Its smooth maple neck, jatoba fingerboard and lightweight poplar body offer superior comfort, while the T106 tremolo bridge provides expressive control for players of any genre.

Player-Focused Design Optimized for Beginners
From its smooth neck and narrow 1.654" nut to its lightweight poplar body, the AZES40 provides exceptional playing comfort for beginners and intermediates alike. The contoured body with deep cutaway grants easy access to higher frets while reducing fatigue, and other player-friendly enhancements, like the Comfort round bridge saddles, make the instrument highly accessible. Everything about the Ibanez AZES40 aims to make playing guitar a fun and inspiring experience.

Versatile Pickups for Diverse Tones
The AZES40 is equipped with Ibanez Essentials single coils in the neck and middle positions, producing balanced tone with crisp articulation. The Accord humbucker in the bridge pumps out focused low end and singing highs, with enough output to take on heavier styles of music. Together with the dyna-MIX9 switching system, you can access nine distinct sounds, from glassy strums to fat leads. The dedicated Alter Switch lets you toggle between single-coil and humbucking modes for expanded tonal options. Finding your voice is effortless with the impressive sonic flexibility of the AZ Standard.

Elite Playability for Every Skill Level
The Ibanez AZES40 boasts a 25" scale length adapted to beginning players and those with smaller hands, shortening the distance between frets for easier access to notes. Its 10" fretboard radius is a solid middle ground between very round and very flat necks, offering equally comfortable chording and single-note playability. Overall, the AZ Standard is an approachable instrument beginners can hone their skills on, but it's also a guitar intermediate and advanced players can create with as well—in look, feel and features, the AZES40 has universal appeal.

Dynamic T106 Tremolo Bridge Adds Expressiveness
For increased expressiveness and control, the AZES40 features an Ibanez T106 tremolo bridge. The sturdy, six-saddle construction provides excellent tuning stability and intonation accuracy, while allowing you to add vibrato, dive bombs, wavering chords and other dramatic techniques to your playing. The wider height adjustment range and recessed mounting screws also prevent interference with your strumming hand. Unlock your creativity with the musical inspiration of the Ibanez AZES40 electric.
It delivers the legendary AZ tone and playability in a thoughtfully crafted instrument. Players of all levels will appreciate its versatile sound, playing comfort and inspiring performance capabilities. Take an Ibanez AZES40 for a test jam at your local Guitar Center today.

This is an amazing guitar. I have had it for about 4 months now. It is really comfortable guitar to play and hold. Very versatile, looks pretty. I have not really played my other guitars because it plays so good.

When buying suggest getting new in box or getting a setup before taking it home for beginners. Great guitar sounds fantastic after taking and having a professional setup. I know most people know how to do this but as a beginner I did not and expected it to be right when I bought it. Don't forget the accessories Much Easier to play than an acoustic to me! But harder to set up so have it done before taking it home.
Possibly the best bang for your buck at the moment.

This guitar is shockingly good at this price. Best features are the smooth neck which feels great in the hand and a solid fret job. Any beginner would be more than satisfied with this guitar. I think it's perfect for a first guitar because of all the tone options and easy playability. With humbucker and single coil options you can discover your preference before spending a lot of money on a pricier instrument. I'm a complete snob and I am totally happy with this instrument. I have all kinds of guitars at all price points and I kept this one. I did swap the pickups but the pups are fine. It was personal preference. I can't get over the value. One thing to be aware of at this price you will get a bad instrument once in a while so don't be upset if the neck is bent or it won't stay in tune. Swap it for another instrument until you get a good one. Or buy in person. It will need a set up and doesn't come with a bag.

This guitar was better than I thought possible. It feels like a 2-in-one guitar by the flick of a switch. Covers everything from light jazz to a little rock. Amazing feel on the neck and body as well. It sounded great, felt great, looked decent, and played well. The last thing on my mind was "is it time to put this down." This is my second guitar, and I doubt I will be buying a different guitar anytime soon.

First electric guitar for my 12 year old son. He liked the way it played in store (and at home!)! Loves the look and color of the guitar.

Does it stay in tune while using the whammy bar?
It depends how much and to what extent you use it. If you dive bomb all night, it's will go out of tune.
