Fender

collapse expand iconDescription

The Classic Design CN models combine the easy playability and distinct tone of nylon strings with the comfort of steel-string spacing. Fender has replaced the typically wide necks normally found on classical guitars with the same easy-to-play neck profile found on all other Classic Design models, with rolled fingerboard edges for incredible fret-hand feel ideal for beginners. The CN-60S also features a solid spruce top, the standard tonewood for acoustic guitar tops, as few woods can beat its strength, brightness and dynamic range, and it responds well to any acoustic playing style, from hard strumming to fast flatpicking or delicate fingerpicking. It also comes with mahogany back and sides, 3-in-line with amber pearloid buttons, dual-action truss rod and a CD Series pearloid rosette.

Case sold separately.

When I bought this guitar, I didn't know much about classical guitars. I thought it sounded great at first and thought it felt great too. Until I started using the guitars of my fellow classmates and noticed it's muted sound. Anytime I played with my friends, they'd usually overpower me with their superior acoustics and that is surprising considering I strum the hardest. Something else to add to it, I'm on my 6-7 month of owning it and I'm not sure if it's a design flaw, but my High E string keeps breaking and the first time I blamed it on my aggressive strumming, but now it tends to only last a month or so and just 4 days ago I got it replaced and it has now broken once again. Overall, it's not the worst beginner guitar, but it's below average if I'm being honest. Cheaper guitars could do a better job on sounding cleaner. If you're looking for a guitar to start on, go for the Cordoba 1-5 or others anything but an acoustic fender because believe me when I say, electric is their only specialty. At least when it comes to cheap prices.

I purchased this a couple of months ago. It has a very nice finish and no imperfections that I can see. However it just sounds terrible - like a ukulele perhaps. It is a very heavy guitar, perhaps heavy paint and a heavy clearcoat which affects the sound? I have a $48 Chinese Glarry (purchased on a whim awhile back) Classical guitar & it blows this fender out of the water soundwise. I really like the looks and ease of playability of this fender, but the sound is a serious problem. Gonna try some new/different strings, but I do not have much hope. I do not suggest this guitar.
