The Bass Soul Food Overdrive effects pedal provides natural overdrive and clean boost for the tone-conscious player to enhance the original sound of an instrument and amp while retaining their essential character.

Its gain stage, treble control and signal path are optimized for bass guitar and guitarists wanting extended low-frequency response. An adjustable clean blend assures an articulate, full tone while boosted power rails deliver extended headroom.

Selectable true or buffered bypass modes and a switchable -10dB pad for active instruments complete the package. Bass Soul Food runs on a 9V battery and ships with an EHX9.6DC-200 power supply.

    Bought this pedal with high expectations - sounds great. but works intermittently. Sent the pedal back to EHX and they sent the pedal back but didn't fix the problem. Now when I toggle off the pedal it acts as a mute switch. I believe the switch is bad. . Also have a Micro POG pedal that does not engage one in every 100 times I use it. I Will toggle it off and on a couple of times then it will work. EHX pedals are NOT at the quality level of Boss or MXR.

    Love this pedal. I used it for grit and drive, not for distortion. It's a warm overdrive, not necessarily crunchy or brittle. Tone and blend let me dial in some sweet dirt. Bypass is clean!

    I was looking for a bass effects pedal to really give my bass a nice treble boost with some mild distortion for playing metal/hardcore music. This pedal along with some hot active pickups did just that! It even has a 0db vs -10db switch for those with active pickups. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a solid overdrive pedal without breaking the bank.

    Let me tell you something about this pedal...Its the best overdrive pedal I have!!! I have the B3K by Darkglass but sometimes it has too much drive. This pedal gives you a real good punch on your bass if you play something in pop-rock Contemporary rock! You'll love it. Its actually the first Electro-Harmonix pedal I've bought and I loved it!!! So I encorage you to buy this pedal. It will not defraud you!!!
