This pedal works fine. Very quiet and smooth operation. It was a little pricey, but it seems very sturdy and I'm sure it will last a long time. I've only had it for two weeks.

I've had this pedal for about two weeks and I'm very pleased with it! I've used it as a monophonic, single-instrument pedal, and as a volume control for a P.A. system. It's well-engineered and very heavy duty. My favorite feature is the adjustable feel because I tend to be a lead foot with pedals. The Boss works well with active and passive systems. Upright bass and all of the other basses & guitars (active and passive) produce clean, amplified tones with adequate volume variance and no loss of fidelity. It is a simple machine that provides noise-free volume change; just what I was looking for! As a former Ernie Ball volume pedal user, I must say that this is a definite step up!
Does what it should.

This is not an "effects pedal", but a workhorse device essential to my rig in two different ways. Well, three really. It serves as the main volume control on my guitar rig, allowing me to shift between quieter, cleaner sound and louder, crunchier sound. It also allows me to produce very violin-like tones by doing a volume swell with my foot while playing notes. Third, it's an expression pedal. Hardly anything to say about this, except that it enhances my rig extensively & reliably.
ROCK SOLID PEDAL

This is the pedal you want. It is man size and solid under your foot. Best of all it has a smooth action, and low volume adjustment. I use it on my stereo keyboards. Boss also makes a FV-50, it is lighter and smaller. For stage or studio, I would use this FV-500.

I use the pedal as a keyboard stereo volume pedal; it is solid, durable, quiet, and the pedal operates smoothly. No problems in over a year. Exactly what I want in a volume pedal.

It's low impedance, but does it work well with high impedance guitar?
No, it doesn't. It's primarily an expression pedal.submitteda year ago

Will it work with my Roland 88
I don't think so. This is "expression pedal" technology. You need a "damper" pedal. Please see "Roland DP-2 Damper Pedal"
