MicroFreak Stellar Limited Edition | Interplanetary synth explorer | ARTURIA

Description
The MicroFreak Stellar by Arturia is a hybrid synthesizer that combines digital oscillators, sampling, analog filters and modulation to create an array of weird and wonderful paraphonic sounds. Its multimode sound engine provides numerous algorithms to choose from, including wavetable, chord, sample and granular engines. You can customize your patches in real time using four intuitive controls and visual feedback.
Flat PCB Keyboard Unlocks New Expression
The MicroFreak Stellar features a distinct flat PCB keyboard that is pressure sensitive and offers polyphonic aftertouch, allowing for lightning-fast solos, arpeggio creation and more. Its unique design encourages you to play in new ways and discover fresh musical expression.
Analog Filter and Modulation Matrix
Combine the MicroFreak Stellar's digital sound engines with its analog filter, inspired by the Oberheim SEM, to achieve truly unique hybrid tones. Its filter offers low-pass, band-pass and high-pass modes so you can make this synthesizer whisper, scream or self-oscillate. Its modulation matrix provides up to seven simultaneous destinations and five sources, including an ADSR envelope, cycling envelope and six-shape LFO for complex sound design.
Sequencing and Randomization Features
The MicroFreak Stellar allows you to blur the lines between sequencing and arpeggiation to create spontaneous melodies, motifs and rhythmic patterns on the fly. Its Spice & Dice randomization feature, ribbon controller and four lanes of automation encourage musical exploration and evolution.

I used to use a Universal Apollo Twin I frequently had latency and cutting out issues. I needed more inputs and wanted hands on control. Which is why this product was perfect for me. The fact that it can be used as an interface is incredibly useful. I will say I found myself using the Bluetooth feature way more often than I thought. Excellent product, great price

It cannot be understated…for the money this is hands-down the BEST, most versatile synth you can buy. It's so good, I'd consider buying two AND a mini freak to go along with it. The range of sounds and built in oscillators you get plus the incredible firmware updates that Arturia keeps pumping out are enough to make this a "never sell" synth. This will be a part of my setup forever or handed down to my kid.
Worth the price all day

The MicroFreak is a pretty awesome synth that for its size packs a powerful punch. Don't let the keyless bed deceive you, it feels nice and premium, and for the price it is definitely worth it.

I was excited for this device. I watched a ton of videos. Picked it up in a guitar center just because they didn't have any good deals on vintage used stuff. Paid for it new condition. So I opened it up at home and it felt as big as it looked online, which usually things are bigger so it was underwhelming. Felt it in the way you usually do twisting knobs and pressing keys. They keys are dumb. They are not easy to use. You can NOT easily perform chords. They don't feel like aftertouch as in pressure detection but rather how much your fingertips cover the key, it's weird. But the biggest thing wrong was the output signal. Immediately after plugging g in directly into studio monitors, the noise floor was unbearable. I mean it is by far the loudest noise in any unit I've ever heard. The headphone output is not as noisy directly to IEM's, but is incredibly quiet in volume. After being disappointed with that, I checked out the presets......very unimpressive. I mean it was a chore getting through them. It was uninspiring and I'll be returning it. It looks like a toy; sounds and feels like one too.
With many synthesis modes, the MicroFreak is very versatile

I love the flexibility of my MicroFreak. Since you can also import your own samples and wavetables, you can really customize and personalize the sounds you make. The cute, space-themed cartoon graphics are fun too. A surprising advantage of the digital oscillator is no noise from the main and headphone outputs. I have one other synth, an analog that I love too, but its headphone jack is noisy. The capacitative keyboard with poly aftertouch adds a lot of value, making the synth a self-sufficient instrument and not just a sound module. The MicroFreak is thus great for both recording and live playing. I can't say enough about the versatility the MicroFreak packs with all its different sound engines. A very enjoyable synth, though be prepared to check the manual because not all oscillator parameters (which are tweaked with the orange knobs) are self-explanatory. If you can, be sure to get the MicroFreak Stellar! It's limited edition and you'll own something really special.
