The AKG Drum Set Session 1 seven-piece microphone pack has all you need to capture authentic drum tones. It includes five instrument microphones, two overhead condenser microphones, sturdy drum shell clamps and adjustable stand adapters. This all-in-one system enables you to record a full, five-piece kit either in studio sessions or on stage during live performances. AKG used its Perception Live series as a gig-tester and made ample upgrades for its new Drum Set Session 1. It offers a P2 large-diaphragm microphone for the bass drum, four P4 high performing dynamic microphones for the tom and snare drums, and two P17 small-diaphragm condenser microphones for overheads.

Built to Endure

Each microphone has high-range capabilities and can endure thunderous sound pressure levels while still managing to keep any dirty cymbal washes, unwanted clipping or distortion at bay. The polar pattern of each microphone is cardioid in shape, rendering the signals off-set to the front of the capsule and that limits unwanted sound spilling over into other microphones.

Hearty Hardware

H440 Adapter Plates and clips for the P4 dynamics allow you to securely attach the mics on the rims of the tom and snare drums making the set up quick and simple. The entire unit is visually unobtrusive, as you only need a bass drum and overhead standalone microphone stands. Chaotic wires or unnecessary stands will no longer hinder your recording or performing experience.

The Versatile Recording Choice

The AKG Drum Set Session 1 is a great option for recording drum sets, but it also has capabilities to record a multitude of other instruments. The P2 has a rich, low-end response when capturing bass amps and gives percussive instruments, like a cajon or Djembe, pleasing warm tones. The clean expression of the P17 condenser mics can handle strings, vocals, acoustic pianos and even the wide sonic range of percussion auxiliary.

Beginner to Advanced, All in One

If you’re new to the world of miking drums, on stage or in the studio, the AKG Drum Set Session 1 seven-piece microphone pack is the perfect "starter" pack and available at a great price. The entire pack of two condenser microphones, five dynamic microphones, mounting clamps and a carrying case is your all-in-one stop shop and a low-cost option that won’t break the bank.
