Content-Aware Processing

The smart:gate's AI engine analyzes your audio in real time to determine the presence of your target source, whether it's vocals, keys, kick drum or another instrument. The visual interface displays the level of the detected target signal, not the entire input, making it easy to set parameters. When you adjust a control, the display shows how it impacts the signal both forward and backward in time. The "No Target" mode lets you use the smart:gate as a standard gate if needed.

Flexible Control

You have familiar control over gating parameters like threshold, attack, release, hold and tolerance to shape the response for your needs. The "Level Bias" feature lets the gating action follow the detected signal more or less closely, perfect for fine-tuning the effect on transient sounds like drums or keeping vocals natural. The "Impact Control" scales back gain reduction when the gate is closed. The smart:gate also provides a "Ducking" mode to attenuate your target signal instead of gating it.

A three-band EQ section gives you control over how gating is applied to different frequency ranges.
