Overloud GEM Comp670 Compressor/Limiter (Download)

From the acclaimed GEM Series, the Comp670 is the Overloud recreation of a very rare legendary tube compressor. It has a unique and distinctive tone, thanks to a large amount of transformers in the signal chain which gives it a very warm tone.

Three Units in One Plug-in

Since the ’50s, the original units have been serviced multiple times. Every unit has its own history and component tolerance which gives each one a unique tone and dynamic response. That's why Overloud has sampled three different variations of the original hardware (found in London, Los Angeles and Milan studios), and packed them into a one powerful plug-in.

Sidechain Filter

You can tweak the Low Cut filter on the Sidechain of the Comp670 to reduce the compressor sensitivity to low frequencies. This is particularly useful to control the amount of “pumping” effect.

Parallel Compression

The Comp670 has built-in parallel compression. Parallel compression is a powerful mixing technique which helps improve the overall impact of the track while leaving the transients intact. It is achieved by summing the compressor output to the original track.
