I got this set a little over a year ago, and coming from a used to be beginner this set is definitely worth it. For this much money you get basically everything a beginner would need and more. You get 3 cymbals, 3 toms a snare and a kick. Now to the cons, there is a pang in the toms and snare, even good tuning can't quite get out but that is to be expected with beginner drumsets. I would recommend replacing the drum heads with remo pinstripes, or put some moon gels on there ( dampening gel). This will make it sound like a way better drum set, get rid of the pang, and add in a more thumpy type drum sound. Make sure to do what YOU want with the drum set because everything you do with it makes a difference to the sound, so try looking up some youtube videos on how differents sets sound, and what they did to achieve that. In conclusion, if you are looking for a beginner drum set that will last you a few years, amd that you can easily modify to become way better at a cheap price, I would recommend this 100%

I was lucky enough to pick these up on sale with 48 month interest-free financing. This set has impressive hardware for an entry level kit. The glossy black finish is nice. The stock heads aren't the greatest, but suitable for a beginner. The cymbals don't sound terrible, but are super thin. They dented very easily. I replaced the tom-heads with a set of Evan's and replaced the cymbals with some used Zildjians A-custom's from GC as well. I am happy with the stock snare and bass drum heads for now, just threw a pillow in the bass drum. I like the bass drum and hi-hat pedals. The cymbal stands are solid. The stick bag was a nice bonus. The throne is decent, but nothing to brag about. You would think it was a $2000+ drum set now, and actually cost less than $1000. MUCH better than my old Ddrum D2 kit that was in a similar price range. 5 stars.

The cymbals are a bit brassy for my personal taste, but the rest is great. The hardware is solid, the drum heads and materials are great, love the Pearl brand and the peace of mind that comes from their warranty. Thrilled with the set!
