Ibanez

collapse expand iconDescription

Mick Thomson's musical exploration never stops, nor does his search for an instrument that best fits the latest chapter of his creative journey. His newest collaboration with Ibanez starts with an RG style body, but then morphs into a creature from an alternative universe.

To begin, the body is mahogany, rather than the RGs standard Basswood. Thomson also spec'd 5-pc maple/walnut Wizard III fast neck with the FX-Edge III bridge, provides in the man's own word tons of sustain. His tried and true signature pickups, the Duncan HB-105MT are in force, as well as Thomson's traditional seven badge embedded in the fingerboard. A reversed headstock completes the visual picture and allows more fluid bending on lower strings, near the nut.
