Harbinger VARI 3000 Series Powered Speakers | Features and Overview

Harbinger

collapse expand iconDescription

Massive groove attacks require a robust subwoofer that can produce low-end frequencies with enough power and headroom to rock the house without distortion, mud or flabby sound. The Harbinger VARI Live VS18—which, not surprisingly, seamlessly partners with Harbinger’s V2408, V2410, V3412 and V3415 speakers—can lower the boom, rock the bass and start a rumble on the dance floor with spectacular clarity and unbeatable impact.

Harbinger VS18 Class-D Power

2,400 Watts of Peak Class-D Power Output

The VS18 has a built-in Class-D amplifier that delivers 2,400 (peak) watts of clean power for a maximum SPL output of 134dB. That’s a lot of headroom, so the VS18 can deliver clean bass without audible distortion or other gig-terminating sonic gremlins. To help protect the speaker when the bass is really pumping, the VS18 has clip LEDs for each input to guard against raging signal levels, and front- and rear-mounted limiter LEDs that let you know when maximum volume has been attained.

Harbinger VS18 DSP

Effortless Room Tuning With DSP

The Harbinger VARI Live 2000 and 3000 series speakers have a Sub Cut feature that automatically ensures an optimum crossover frequency when a VS18 is added to the system. However, any full-range speaker can be integrated with the subwoofer by setting the VS18’s crossover control yourself and tailoring its response to work with the mains you are using. You can even adjust the VS18’s Time Aligning Delay control to combat phase-alignment issues that can rob the sub of maximum bass. A transparent limiter is also onboard to keep the lows taut and protect the speaker when it's operating at high volume levels.

Harbinger VS18 Sub Caster Wheels

Roll and Rock

Most subwoofers are feared by working bands and DJs, because transporting a speaker that feels as heavy as a Ford F-150 Lightning with its wheels missing is no fun at all. Happily, the VS18’s 86-lb. heft can be wheeled right into venues, thanks to its easy-roll locking casters. In addition, the cabinet’s integrated handles make it less of a chore to carry the VS18 out of SUVs (or trucks) and onto stages. Even better, you won’t have to suffer through the agony of “disappearing band members” when you ask for help loading the VS18 in and out of venues.

Harbinger VS18 Stereo Speaker Connection

Versatile Stereo Speaker Connections

The VS18 has the inputs and outputs to integrate with just about any sound system. Dual XLR combo connectors accept balanced and unbalanced XLR inputs, as well as 1/4" jacks, so however your system is configured, it can welcome a VS18 to the show. Two XLR outputs let you add more subs for large venues, and an output level control is dedicated to the VS18 alone, so you can adjust sub lows without affecting the volume of the connected main speakers.
