The Martin D-28 Satin acoustic guitar features the characteristic projective tone and strong bass of Martin dreadnoughts, with the addition of a satin-finished top, back and sides. The D-28 has East Indian rosewood back and sides which are very resonant and offer deep bass and rich overtones. The non-scalloped bracing contributes to the fuller sound. Additional appointments to the D-28 include a mahogany neck in a modified low oval profile, an ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and nickel open-gear tuners.

Forward-Shifted Bracing Opens Up the Tone

The D-28 features Martin's forward-shifted X-bracing, which allows for greater vibration of the top. The neck has a high-performance taper that is slightly narrower at the nut for an easy grip and wider at the 12th fret for less hand cramping. The ebony fingerboard has a 16" radius and 1-3/4" nut width.
