I play solo fingerstyle guitar and this capo makes it so easy to play the chords and melody at the same time. The key of D is very friendly to playing the melody of a lot of songs over the chords but you need that low root note. You can use drop D tuning but that takes away your normal G chord and kind of messes things up with scales and chords. This capo make it so easy plus it's quick to take off and go back to standard tuning. I love it and I've been using it for years.
works great

I have used drop D capo for years by cheating my Kyser over a string from the high side. This capo lets me clamp on from above the frets and gives a much more solid hold. I now consider this capo a must-have when capo-ing for drop D tunings.

I wish I would have gotten one of these sooner. Drop d without the rethinking of the fret board. Also works great with the shortcut capo for "no tuner turning" tunings all up the neck. My acoustic guitar has become a new beast!! If you want to experience new sonic vistas, try this capo out. You are only limited by your imagination.

i bought this capo when i first started playing guitar at my local music store. i didnt know much about capos but wanted to play a song that needed one. i bough this one suc it was the only one there. i wasnt aware it was a "drop-d" capo and it worked ok. its built very well and sturdy and is easy to change frets. only downside is that you can play up on higher frets.(like anywere past the 6 or 7th fret). overall dont buy this capo if it is the only thing there, buy a regular kyser capo.
