With over 1,900 presets and 11.5GB of samples, you have a sonic playground to shape your own unique string sounds. The VSM IV elevates your user experience with new features like a scalable UI, undo and redo functions and FX like chorus, reverb and ensemble effects to add depth and character.

Craft Hybrid Sounds

The VSM IV lets you combine two layers of sounds from instruments like the Solina, Elka Rhapsody and Korg PE2000. Blend these vintage tones to create your own hybrid presets and take string sounds into new territory. We invited sound designers like Robin Rimbaud (Scanner), Polydata and Lightbath to craft presets showcasing the machine's potential. With 49 notes, each individually sampled and looped, you have extreme flexibility.

Intuitive Controls for Playability

The VSM IV gives you enhanced playability with expanded polyphonic aftertouch and velocity controls. Set custom MIDI continuous controller responses using MIDI learn for an intuitive performance experience. With pitch bend, LFO controls and three-band EQ, you have deep tone-shaping abilities at your fingertips.

The VSM IV lets you emulate the charming imperfections of vintage string machines with wow, flutter and instability controls. An alternative state-variable filter provides warmth, while the matrix reverb, chorus and ensemble effects give your strings a lush, full sound.
