Ernie Ball

collapse expand iconDescription

The Ernie Ball Papa Het's Hardwired Master Core signature strings have been developed in collaboration with James Hetfield of Metallica. These custom light top/heavy bottom guitar strings are constructed with RPS (Reinforced Plain String) technology and master core wire for maximum output and clarity. The RPS design provides more tensile strength for each string, enabling you to drop-tune without sacrificing tone or tuning stability. The wire is drawn from the finest copper and steel to produce strings with enhanced magnetic properties, resulting in higher output, definition and sustain.

RPS Technology Reinforces Each String for Powerful Drop-Tuning

The RPS technology reinforces each string with a super-fine wrap wire at the ball end, increasing its tensile strength by up to 37%. This allows you to drop-tune and experiment with lower tunings without the strings going slack or losing intonation. The RPS design works in tandem with Ernie Ball's custom gauge selection to provide the ideal balance of tension and tone for Drop C tuning and beyond.

Master Core Wire Unlocks Your Guitar's True Potential

The Master Core wire drives your pickups to produce superior output, clarity and sustain. Its specialized alloy delivers punchy lows, articulate mids and searing highs that cut through the mix.

Premium Packaging and Lifespan

These strings arrive in an iconic tin package, with custom artwork designed by James Hetfield, that help to preserve string freshness and protect against corrosion. Built to last, these strings provide a long, consistent lifespan for gigging and recording. Once installed, expect a full, powerful tone for many hours of playing before needing replacement.

If your a metal rhythm player these strings are a must have. They stay in tune no matter how hard you bang on them and they have a great feel to them as well. Three sets of strings plus the cool tin is a great value. Highly recommend your had these to your arsenal.

When i first put these strings on my explorer I tuned them a half step down from standard tuning and they sounded very brutal compared to what i was using before. After about 2 weeks of using them they held up to my very hard hitting picking hand and my very fast tremolo picking.

  • Great Set of Strings!

These Hetfield signatures are best for heavy power chords but also work well for lead playing. The notes feel very firm when played. Overall awesome set of strings! #sweepstakes

These Hetfield signature strings are great for playing both rhythm and lead. With a much larger gauge, it feels as if the strings are much sturdier and are easier to grab on the neck. Definitely love these!

I'm sorry but I'm not sure. Your guitar probably has 12's. These are 11's. In a case like this we recommend having a qualified guitar tech look at the guitar to assure proper screw hole alignment and post width.
