collapse expand iconDescription

Ernie Ball Coated Slinky electric guitar strings combine the latest technological advancements in string manufacturing. All wound strings are treated with a micro-thin layer of enamel that prevents decay and corrosion up to five times more than uncoated sets. In addition to treating the wound strings, each plain string features a rust-resistant plating along with a patented reinforcement winding of titanium wire. Titanium's inherent strength prevents string breakage, string slippage, and is proven to keep your guitar strings in tune better than conventional plain strings. Ernie Ball Coated Slinky guitar strings maintain the feel and sound of uncoated sets, combining the added protection with the vibrant tone Ernie Ball musicians have relied on for over 50 years.

All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and the most exacting specs to assure consistency, optimum performance, and long life.

Ernie Ball is a pioneer of rock and roll guitar strings. Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai, and Slash are among the long list of Slinky players.

    awesome strings

i trust ERNIE BALL 150%!! at first I got the regulars without the titanium, but when i saw that there was coated ones, i decided to try 'em out. i slapped those bad boys on my epiphone les paul and it was like i was playin a totally different ax!! these strings are incredible!! i went through the un-coated ones in weeks, they kept breaking because of my constant downtuning and such, but when i got the titaniums they stay in tune just about 90% of the time, and have a great tone. they rarely wear out and, great strings at a reasonable price.

Fine strings, but not as advertised

I've used the regular Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys for years. I have extremely sweaty/acidic hands, so I wear down strings extremely quickly. Sometimes if I play enough, I can wear the non-coated ones out in a couple days. I use Elixirs on my acoustic, but their electric strings aren't great. When I saw these coated EBs came out, I was stoked. They play the same as the non-coated, but for me, I could hardly tell they lasted any longer. If I go through normal strings in two weeks, these should have lasted about six weeks. They only lasted about three. They're fine strings, but you might as well save your money and get the non-coated ones, since they play the same.

I have broken three strings from two packs while putting the strings on. I'm not going to try these again.

Been a Slinky user for years. Tried some of the other coated but didn't bond. Had some DR string packs and tried but was breaking E and B strings. Put these bad babies on and once again WOW. They have the nice somoith feel but not the heavy coated feel. Tone is bright but even with super overtones and sustain. Tried on my Strat and Tele will be putting on ES347. Wish there was a pure nickel wrap for the Fenders. The brighter tone should really sing on the Gibby.

I just installed Ernie Ball Titanium strings .10-.46 gauge and from previous ownership let me tell you:THE BEST... here's why: I probably won't have to install new ones for about 2 months from now! They are designed to prevent string breakage (It says it on the pack) and I think it's true! This is the 2nd time I've used these strings since I just found out about them.(About 4 months ago) They can make you do great bends, without having to retune every time.(It can be annoying, right?) And they can stay in tune for a long time, too. These strings will play like a dream any day of the week. They still sound like new after about 3 days, and they will be an excellent addition to your guitar/s because they will never dissapoint. I recommend it!

How many come with this set of strings? And do I need to buy more than one set to be able to string a few electric guitars?
