Ernie Ball has been producing premium guitar and bass strings since the early 1960s. The Hybrid Slinky Roundwound Bass Strings are constructed with nickel-plated steel windings wrapped around tin-plated hex shaped steel cores for a versatile, all-around tone. The Hybrid Slinky gauges of .045, .065, .085 and .105 provide balanced tension and a punchy, articulate sound. Whether you prefer rock, jazz, funk or metal, these strings will bring out the best in your bass. The Ernie Ball 2833 Hybrid Slinky Roundwound Bass Guitar Strings are the perfect choice for players wanting power and clarity.

Nickel-Plated Steel Wraps for Bright, Balanced Tone

The nickel-plated steel windings are key to the balanced, versatile sound of the Hybrid Slinky strings. The nickel plating helps produce a clear top end with snappy mids, while the steel core provides a solid low end. Together, these materials create strings that cut through with a piano-like quality, letting the true voice of your bass shine through. The Hybrid Slinky gauges provide ideal tension and tone for the vast majority of playing styles.

Hex-Shaped Steel Core for Punch and Sustain

At the heart of the Hybrid Slinky strings is a hex-shaped steel core wire. The hex shape helps the strings hold tune better than round cores. The steel also provides plenty of punch, sustain and warmth. These attributes, combined with the nickel-plated steel windings, create a set of strings with power and clarity that will inspire your creativity.

Made Under the Highest Standards

All Ernie Ball strings are made under the strictest quality standards. Only the freshest raw materials and the most advanced manufacturing processes are used to produce strings worthy of the Ernie Ball name. Generations of musicians have relied on Ernie Ball strings for their tone, performance and tuning stability. The 2833 Hybrid Slinky Roundwound Bass Guitar Strings uphold this tradition of excellence.

Gages for Comfort and Playability

The .045, .065, .085 and .105 gauges of the Hybrid Slinky strings provide comfortable tension and an easy playing feel. The balanced gauges suit most basses and playing styles, so you can focus on technique and expression rather than fighting your strings. The Hybrid Slinky strings have long been a favorite of rock, metal and fusion bassists for their versatility, tone and playability.

great slap tone

I had been unsatisfied with the weak slapping dynamics of the cheap strings I used. I tried every tone and action setting i had. I had always wanted to try these, so I did, lowered the action as low as It would go and threw them on. easiest stringing job ever, btw, they bent and didn't resist as some do. they barely had to stretch, there is NO fret buzz and the slapping comes through thick and funky. I have tried the cheap strings, flatwound, etc. and these are the most playable and toneful I have tried yet. add me onto that list of slinky players for good.

Surprised

Disappointing isn't the word. I've been playing for over forty years and used every brand on the market including Ernie Ball and I don't know if it was just a fluke and I got a bad batch , but this set was junk. I put the stock strings back on a new bass until I can get back to the music store. If this is going to be the norm for Ernie Ball, get out of the bass string business.

Got ernie balls on my stingray, p bass and jazz bass. Great strings once they're broke in. Lasts months with consistent playing. Great feel in my fingers.

  • GHS is my go to but Ernie Ball are my 2nd choice.

#sweepstakes GHS are a favorite strings in my price range. They're a little less expensive than DRI which are awesome too. However, The Ernie Ball hybrid slinky's are a great alternative for their lifespan and price.

Love a feel and response to these strings. Running active pickups at punk rock speeds, the pop and punch with the brightness is hard to beat. But that's more about my amp setup. The strings are awesome and that's the only way I play with these on my bass. Give em a try I'd be shocked if you don't like them.

  • Great set of strings
