Long Lasting Tone | ELIXIR Strings

Why use ELIXIR Strings

Description
Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface, but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-Rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set.
Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?
Engineered to endure, these acoustic strings constructed with phosphor bronze wrap wire boast a dynamic balance of rich, full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity. Compared to Elixir's original POLYWEB Coating, the ultrathin NANOWEB coating allows a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel.
For a slicker, gentler feel, try a set of strings with their original POLYWEB Coating. The 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, for example, might be a good fit if you want a more robust and rounded tone. On the other end of the tone spectrum, Elixir's 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating deliver a brighter, crisper tone alongside the same traditional feel as these phosphor bronze strings.
Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings. Jam on and on (and on) with the same premium electric bass guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available.
Specially developed based on in-depth feedback from more than a thousand bass players just like you, Elixir Strings' tailor-made selection of bass strings proudly includes nickel-plated and stainless steel construction options, four-, five- and six-string sets, long and extra-long scales, and virtually every gauge range you could possibly need. All with their innovative string coating technology. And unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings.
Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?
Premium by design, these electric bass guitar strings constructed with nickel-plated steel wrap wire boast a rich, rounded tone with incredible clarity and a heavy mid-range presence. Meanwhile, the ultrathin NANOWEB Coating, redesigned specifically for bass guitars, allows a smooth, natural feel that also enhances grip and reduces finger squeak.
For a brighter bass tone, try their Stainless Steel Bass Strings with NANOWEB Coating.
Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings.

Elixr Phosphor Bronze
I really like these strings. I gig with them regularly on my Taylor 314ce. They sound and feel great. No squeaks when sliding and they help reduce finger soreness for those who play 2 to 4 shows weekly like myself. I change them every 3 shows, not because they rust (THEY DON'T) but just because even elixrs will weaken and break after heavy use. If you're a bedroom/back yard picker they'll last you a very long time. If you play professionally keep in mind they're not "magic" strings and should be changed after a few shows. Over all they are an excellent choice for several reasons. I would recommend them to anyone especially for playing acoustic guitar. I also recommend ordering from GuitarCenter.com. Every time I place an order for something in stock it arrives in just a couple of days. The service is great. Thanks

Worst Strings I Ever Owned
Most expensive strings I ever bought. Broke one when putting them on guitar- that never happened before. Broke both the A and D string in the first two weeks of using them performing! Never broke an A or D string before. Never would by these again. Tone wasn't even that great. Going back to D Addarios

First time I've used this gauge string. I've used Elixir but before but not this gauge. I put them on a rosewood & spruce guitar and the sound is awesome. The strings sound great and are not rough on the fingers, great for beginners. Very good value for the money. Will buy again.
Love the sound I get out of theses things

Do they take a lot of bending because I play lead and I'm pretty tough on them
