The NEON series isn't just about the look. They are great sounding, long-lasting, and meet all of the criteria required to be welcomed into the DR family of products. These are medium guage electric strings, .010, .013, .017, .026, .036, .042.

DR NEONs are super bright color-coated strings that sound clear, bright and musical. Players love the bright NEON colors and their remarkable sound. Super bright in daylight and under stage lighting, DR NEON is 100% black light reactive and glow strongly under UV lighting. NEONs are the first coated string to make no apologies. While Neons last as long as a coated string should (three to four times as long as uncoated strings) they sound as good, or better, than uncoated strings.

    I put these strings on my gigging guitar and I was mostly impressed with the sound quality. However, the low E string suffered the most from the neon layer deadening its sound; Every other string sounded fine with my typical tone. The neon layer could be seen chipping away little by little but so far, has survived a month of constant playing. Overall, I'd get these again but leave out the low E string for a regular one.

    These are good for a beginner, works with Rocksmith. Good sound.

    I originally bought these because the colors matched up with the game Rocksmith. I was pleasantly surprised that the last, and sound great.
