Yamaha Digital Piano YDP ARIUS | Standard series Overview

Description
Yamaha's Arius YDP-184 Traditional Console Digital Piano is a premium instrument that provides an authentic acoustic piano experience. The YDP-184 features Yamaha's renowned CFX concert grand piano sound and delivers a rich, nuanced tone across the entire 88-key keyboard. The Graded Hammer 3 (GH3) action with synthetic ebony and ivory keytops recreates the weight and feel of real wooden keys for a familiar response. With built-in stereo speaker system, the YDP-184 fills your space with immersive sound. For over a century, Yamaha has crafted innovative, high-quality acoustic pianos—the YDP-184 upholds that tradition at an affordable price.
Authentic Grand Piano Sound With CFX Sampling
At the heart of the YDP-184 is Yamaha's renowned CFX concert grand piano sound, offering a dynamic range of tonal expression. The CFX sampling uses recordings of a hand-selected Yamaha concert grand piano to capture the unique character of each key. The result is a rich, complex tone across all registers of the keyboard.
Graded Hammer 3 Action With Synthetic Ivory and Ebony Keytops
The YDP-184 features Yamaha's Graded Hammer 3 (GH3) keyboard action with 88 weighted keys. The GH3 recreates the resistance felt when playing the lower register of an acoustic piano, with progressively lighter weight in the higher keys. The synthetic ebony and ivory keytops provide moisture absorption and a familiar textured feel. The combination of the GH3 action and textured keys results in an authentic piano playing experience.
Connectivity Options For Recording and Practice
A variety of connectivity options are available with the YDP-184. The Smart Pianist app for iOS and Android allows you to control settings, choose rhythms and record and share your performances. The USB to Host port lets you connect the piano to your computer for use with music production software. The built-in stereo speaker system provides a full range of sound or you can use the headphone jacks for private practice. Two headphone jacks allow you and a duet partner to play together.

Amazing Digital Piano!

I wanted the closest thing I could get to an upright piano, but in a digital piano package due to having limited space and also liking the idea of having the ability to adjust volume and not have to keep up with tuning a piano. I grew up playing a baby grand piano, so that is my comparison. This piano has surpassed my expectations. Not only does it look stunning and truly like a small upright piano, but it absolutely sounds like one. The sound quality is beautiful and I have now played for hours on this piano over the last month that I have owned it and find that I am not missing traditional pianos one bit. Highly recommend if you want a classy looking and high quality sounding digital piano. So happy with my purchase!
Beautiful sound, feels solid.

The keyboard section was very heavy but I see this as a positive since obviously this piano was designed to NOT be portable. It has some features of the clavinova series but still remains relatively affordable. Sounds beautiful and action is very nice.
Hoping this purchase works out

The key action noise is a little clicky and I'm trying to figure that out.I may have to contact a Yamaha dealer to understand it this the design or an unintended defect. Don't remember it that was in display room but it is much quieter and I hear more in my living room. Beautiful sound , beautiful piano.
Glad I bought this digital piano

This piano is definitely top of the line; it sounds just like a classic piano - with the weight of the keys and the richness of sound. I have no negative comments about it except that it comes in pieces in a very heavy (250 lbs) box and the freight service with whom the Guitar Center partners doesn't actually bring it into your home (like you would expect from a furniture delivery service). It would have been nice to know this for proper planning. Otherwise relatively easy to assemble but you will need 2 people and about an hour.
Great piano!

I've been playing since I was 5 and I love this piano! The key feel is very realistic and the sound is great. Also the piano itself is gorgeous and looks like a real upright. So happy with this purchase
