I play in the praise and worship team at my church and am supplied with this cab and the 250 watt Little Mark head. My church seats1100 people. I love the cab but not crazy about the head. I have found that using passive pickup basses I get distortion when I play it hard. The opposite is true ifI use passive. With passive pickups I get perfectly clean sound at shake the wall levels. That tells me it is the head and not the cab. I suggest for rooms the size of my church you use at least the 500 watt amp.

  • Fantastic compact cabinet!

I replaced a 104HF with this HR. Very tight sounding compared to the HF. Not boomy at all. Plenty of clear low end. A definite keeper. The size and weight makes for an easy to move, killer sounding cabinet.

I am running an old GK 400RB head through this 104HR and it sounds absolutely AMAZING. Sure its an old amp but this cabinet delivers all the way: I have used this set up with a old 70's jazz bass as well my Kubicki Factor (active) and the sound is fat and punchy with clarity.

I have 4 different Markbass cabs that I use for various venues, and rehearsals. The 410HR always sits on top of my 410HF when playing outside venues, and inside when playing classic rock. They are pushed by a SD800 amp, and it works quite well. The HR410 gives me the mids I need to hear at the correct Cab hight Mid level and frequency for classic rock. No power problems here with these cabs. I've had comments on these everywhere I play. I love 'em.

I’m very sorry. Your question is not clear. It's a Markbass head and Markbass cabinett, designed for each other. Yes you can use it.

Just about every Markbass head will run at 4 ohms. Good choice, this is the best.

What is the difference between this 104hr rear-ported cab and the front-ported cab?

If you have a front port, those very low frequencies are going to be right up front. The rear port will provide a tighter sound as the low frequencies will be behind the initial note.

If you have the Little Mark 800 Bass Amp Head, it will deliver 800W of power at 4 ohms

    4 vs 8 ohms?
I've read that a 4 ohm cab will utilize the full potential of the amps power. However, it might be better to get the 8 ohm on the chance I connect an additional cab in the future.

You are correct on both points, so the real question is will you ever need a two 4 x 10?
