FAQs
Find a rental location near you Find Store

The quality of a recording is a direct result of the hardware used to make it—which means that when you want a finished master or even a simple demo to sound its best, you've got to start out with the right equipment. Guitar Center's recording gear rentals have you covered with a wide range of essentials from microphones and preamps to interfaces, signal processors and more. When you want professional results from a temporary recording setup, we can help you make it happen. Microphones are, of course, the workhorse of any recording system, so if you're putting together a rental package from scratch, they're the best place to start. Since mics tend to be specialized for a specific use, the first step when you're looking to rent a microphone is to decide which type you need: for example, a live microphone for broadcasting, a recording mic for the studio or a dynamic mic to take onstage. Condenser microphones are the most common studio mics, but you could also opt for a ribbon mic instead, depending on your needs. The type of microphone you rent will affect the type of preamp you need, or even if you need one at all. From there, you might go through some I/O hardware to connect it to a sound system or other recording gear like a signal processor, or use an interface to bridge the gap between analog and digital for editing the recording in a software environment. There's a lot to know about recording gear, so if you're not sure what to rent, let us help! The advice of our experienced associates is part of the Guitar Center rental experience, so call or visit your nearest store to get started. We'll show you the recording gear for rent and help you put together the right setup to get the results you want. All it takes is your ID and a credit card to get started, and we can walk you through the features of the hardware you're renting, make reservations for you to ensure it will be available, and even set up a business account if your rental is on behalf of an organization. The bottom line: you'll be up and running with your recording gear rental before you know it.
