The Ibanez AZS2209B Prestige electric guitar takes some of the most popular elements of the AZ and combines them with a modernized take on a classic single-cut design. Fans of the original AZ will immediately appreciate the neck, which maintains the same oval C shape and 12" radius, delivering smooth ergonomic comfort and quick, agile playability. Consistency of tone is another critical aspect of the AZS electric—it utilizes a metal mounting plate for the bridge pickup, preserving the quintessential clear, fat and twangy tones for which this type of guitar is known. Dial into your tone with the SH configuration of Seymour Duncan pickups—a Magic Touch mini-humbucker at the neck, and Alnico II Pro Custom single-coil at the bridge—plus the dyna-MIX5 switching system with Alter Switch, which adds a sound variation to fit a wide range of playing styles.

The AZS2209B’s body is made of ash for pleasant brightness and rich sustain. The roasted maple neck has received the special S-TECH treatment, which increases the wood’s stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance of temperature changes. The neck is sealed with an oil finish, which helps make it feel similar to a well-played guitar neck. It’s topped with an S-TECH roasted maple fingerboard, which has been finished with a smooth curve for enhanced grip comfort.
