International return policy

What is the Guitar Center international return policy?

Please be aware that Guitar Center retail stores cannot process International returns.

Our goal is your total satisfaction.

If you’re not satisfied, neither are we. If for any reason you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it in its original condition within 45 days of delivery (see exceptions below) and we’ll give you a full refund. It’s that simple. Returned items must be in original, brand-new condition, showing no signs of wear or use such as belt-buckle or pick scratches, scuffs, dings or scrapes on the instrument or collateral materials. Items must also include all original packaging, manuals, warrantees and accessories or your return may be subject to a return handling charge or a minimum 15% re-stocking fee for returns that are not in original brand new condition.  Items with excessive wear or damage may be subject to a disqualification. See detailed return handling charges here. Your refund will be processed upon completing evaluation of your returned item. Refunds are made for product value only, excluding shipping and handling charges.

 

 


Exceptions to 45-day return period:

 

  • Return within 14 days of purchase - recording devices, DJ equipment, workstation keyboards, rack signal processors and lighting/fog machines.
  • Return within 3 days of purchase – vintage instruments
  • No returns - clearance items, discontinued items, Apple hardware, opened software, software downloads, books, CDs, videos, vinyl records, turntable cartridges, tubes, in ear buds, earplugs and monitors.

Abuse of Return Privileges – Our return policy is in place to ensure our customers never get stuck with a wrong piece of gear. Those who violate the spirit of our return policy by having excessive returns may be subject to limitations or suspension of return privileges.

Prepaid return shipping labels will be provided for all returns. Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs which will be deducted from your refund, except if the return results from an error on our part or from receipt of a defective product. In those cases we will cover the return shipping charges.

Exchanges:

Because any taxes or duty you may have paid will be refunded to you in the event you request an exchange, such requests are handled like returns on international orders. In order to obtain an exchange, you must place a new order for the new item you would like and return the item you wish to exchange.We will then recover any taxes or duty you paid on the original item and issue a refund to you for its cost plus any taxes or duty you paid. Please allow two to three weeks from the time you ship your return for receipt of a refund. We will update you via email with your refund details. Please contact us for further information.
