collapse expand iconDescription

The Alvarez Yairi DYM70 dreadnought acoustic guitar brings together robust solid wood construction with an innovative FST6 bracing system for a responsive and full-bodied tone. Handcrafted in Japan by master luthiers with over 50 years of experience, the DYM70 is built using choice tonewoods like solid Sitka spruce and East Indian rosewood. Its dreadnought body provides a balanced and projecting voice perfect for strumming rhythm or intricate fingerpicking.

Robust and Responsive Solid Wood Construction

The DYM70 starts with hand-selected solid Sitka spruce for the top and solid East Indian rosewood for the back and sides. The solid spruce top offers clarity and volume with strong projection, while the rosewood back and sides provide a rich, complex midrange with clear and defined bass. Together, these premium solid woods allow the DYM70 to sing with a bold and balanced dreadnought tone. The neck is also crafted from mahogany for smooth playability.

Innovative FST6 Bracing System for Enhanced Tone

Alvarez has developed an innovative FST6 bracing system to take the DYM70's tone to the next level. Similar to their FST2 bracing, the FST6 uses forward-shifted braces that are scalloped and tuned for optimal resonance. However, the FST6 braces are lighter in weight, allowing even greater vibration and responsiveness. The FST6 bracing helps the solid wood top vibrate freely, resulting in enhanced richness, clarity and projection.

Handcrafted Neck for Smooth Playability

The DYM70's neck is handcrafted from mahogany and shaped into a comfortable soft V profile. Each neck is spoke-shaved and hand-sanded for an incredibly smooth feel that makes playing along the rosewood fingerboard enjoyable and effortless. The nut width provides comfortable room for fingerpicking while still accessible for strumming. The handcrafted neck offers easy playability so you can focus on making music.

L.R. Baggs Electronics for Natural Amplified Sound

The DYM70 comes equipped with L.R. Baggs Stage Pro electronics, featuring their Element pickup for accurately capturing the guitar's natural tone. The flexible 3-band EQ allows you to shape your amplified sound, with volume control at your fingertips. The Stage Pro electronics are discreet yet powerful, letting you easily amplify your sound with the DYM70 for live performances or recording while retaining the integrity of its all-solid wood construction.
