collapse expand iconDescription

The Zildjian 20" K Series Ride cymbal delivers a stunning range of tone ideal for jazz, rock, fusion and progressive styles. Made in the USA using traditional Turkish techniques perfected by Zildjian in the 19th century, this cymbal produces a warm, shimmering sound with outstanding clarity and musicality. Its medium weight and traditional finish give drummers an inspiring level of control and nuance. Whether playing with brushes, mallets or sticks, the 20" K Ride responds dynamically to create washes of color and rhythmic punctuations. The Zildjian K Ride is a must-have for serious drummers seeking creative freedom of expression.

Hammered Bronze Construction Provides a Distinctive Tonal Complexity

The 20" K Ride is cast from Zildjian's proprietary bronze alloy, which is repeatedly hammered, lathed and finished by hand using secret techniques passed down through generations. This intensive process results in a cymbal with a complex blend of high, mid and low overtones that shimmer and bloom, with a warm, musical quality. The traditional K Ride bell produces a clear, full-bodied 'ping' with a long sustain, while the bow has a drier, more articulate sound perfect for rhythmic riding.

Versatile, Expressive Sound Works for Multiple Genres

With its dynamic sensitivity and complex tone, the 20" K Ride works well in a variety of musical settings. Jazz drummers will appreciate its ability to produce colorful washes and articulate stick clicks. Rock and fusion players will love its powerful, cutting bell sound and ability to cut through loud bands. Progressive and experimental drummers will delight in the range of unusual and inspiring sounds possible with this highly responsive cymbal.

Timeless, Handcrafted Quality

Since 1623, Zildjian has been producing the finest cymbals through traditional handcrafting methods. The 20" K Ride is the result of Zildjian's dedication to quality and ongoing innovation. Its classic finish and distinctive hammering patterns are hallmarks of the K Series sound, sought after by discerning drummers for decades. An investment in musicality, the 20" K Ride will provide a lifetime of inspiration and sonic discovery.

This is a really responsive ride cymbal--both when it's played softly and when you whale away on it. There's a purity to its tone when you play it softly, and it roars like a lion when you need it to, with a terrific wash. The bell is clear and sharp, not too loud. I've been using it only about a month now, but so far I love it.

This is an absolute workhorse of a cymbal. For me, it fits every category. This is the one I bring when I don't know what I'm going to need to play. Great crash on it, good wash for riding, bell is pronounced. My only regret is selling that one I had one time, but I bought another one to replace it haha! This thing does rock extremely well, it does jazz extremely well, it even does metal pretty well. If you can only have one ride cymbal, this should be it!

When I first heard one of these, I thought, "that's the perfect cymbal for what I mostly play." That happens to be jazz, though I like and will happily play any style of music. This ride has a soft, sultry sound that I could listen to all day. Its characteristic K Zildjian dark overtones don't overpower acoustic instruments. This applies to the bell as well; you get the ping, but it's not overpowering. Probably not the best choice for heavy metal rock or techno-music (get an A Zildjian Medium or Ping Ride for those), but for anything like jazz or classical, it's hard to find a better choice than the good ol' traditional K Ride. It's the ride cymbal that I use the most.

Have owned this cymbal for over a decade and would love to still be playing in another decade. I use it strictly as a ride. It has grown to have such aa delicate sound after all the years I've had it. It's articulate. Not the most articulate ride I have ever played, but nonetheless still articulate and now familair to me. I do use 2 thin strips of tape on the bottom just to bring up the articulation a little but and also the years of playing it have dried out it's tone a bit. I'm not a crash on the ride type player but if you do crash on it it sounds awesome, dark, unique and gong like.

Bought the 20" at GC Killeen. This is best all around ride I've ever played. It just fits everything i play from Gospel Country to Rock. Not to light or heavy. Just Right!!! You can crash on it and it has a great bell too.

I've been playing 30+ years and I love this ride. Have a great 70s Zildjian ride/crash but it washes out and loses definition on stick work. This ride has incredible definition and a great sound that doesn't get away from you. Nice stick response and a clear sounding bell. While not a crash, when you do get on it as a crash it has beautiful gong like undertones. Make sure you bring your other cymbals when auditioning this ride as there is some tonal variation. My local GC had two, one of which sounded great on its own but was slightly dissonant with my cymbals. The other was a perfect match and has opened up my playing, with a lot of long strings of punctuated pings. A great ride.
