The BT-01 is powered from MIDI but did not accept feedback into the MIDI/keyboard from any apps. According to Yamaha this product works with Yamaha keyboards and very few others. They have a list and told me if it works with any keyboard not on their list it is just lucky.

  • Works with FlowKey App and old 2005 Suzuki Digital Piano!

I wanted to use my older digital piano with FlowKey app on my iPad. My piano (Suzuki HG-425e) is probably 15 + years old. (So old it takes 3.5 floppy discs!). But it does have MIDI in, out and thru jacks. I decided to gamble on this gadget, thinking chances were slim that it would work for me. To my surprise, it worked flawlessly! The key is: Use your Piano-learning app to connect. It doesn't show up in Apple Bluetooth settings as headphones & speakers do. You need to open the App (Flowkey for me) to connect to your midi input. In Flowkey, I open the song I'm learning, then click the settings icon, and turn on the ".midi input device." option. This will tell flow key to listen to your playing from the wireless midi (instead of the sound in the room). It works way better when using the midi. Much more accurate and makes FlowKey even more fun to use. Hope this helps someone out there.

Connected to a Yamaha P515 and iPad. It was recognized automatically by the Smart Pianist app and I was able to use in apps like forScore.

This is nice for the price. No batteries needed. Some say you need an app to find the bluetooth connection for Onsong. I did NOT. You do have to go into settings to find the signal. This works great with the BeatBuddy.

This would be used for bluetooth control for instruments and I would not recommend this for a mixer.

No. This is for MIDI signals over Bluetooth. There are no MIDI connections on the Yamaha HS7 monitors.
