The American Dream series of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars by Taylor was created, in part, to push the boundaries of contemporary acoustic guitar design, while creating USA-made, solid-wood instruments that would offer outstanding value for the player. The Taylor AD24ce Special-Edition Grand Auditorium embodies those ideas, combining a blend of solid tonewoods with Taylor innovation in bracing and construction.

Taylor American Dream AD24ce

A Body Style That's Become a Classic

This Taylor Special-Edition AD24ce boasts Taylor's Grand Auditorium body style, an original creation introduced by Bob Taylor in 1994. Taylor's most popular body style, the Grand Auditorium strikes a balance between the flatpicking-favorite dreadnought and fingerstyle-favored Grand Concert body styles. With a clear, mid-range-forward voice that maintains plenty of body, and that responds beautifully across the instrument's entire dynamic range, this Special-Edition AD24ce also features Taylor's V-Class bracing, which increases volume and sustain while improving the instrument's intonation.

Tonewoods Selected for Balance and Beauty

Taylor has always been known for creative use of classic, as well as newer tonewoods, and a commitment to increased sustainability in wood choices has driven the company over recent years. For the Special-Edition AD24ce, Taylor has chosen a solid mahogany top with sapele (an African hardwood and mahogany relative) back and sides. Mahogany is known for its strong note fundamentals and natural "bloom," which provide almost a natural compression that delivers a very even attack. The sapele reinforces the strong fundamental and helps provide focus clarity in the guitar's voice.

Taylor American Dream AD24ce Electronics Controls

Versatile Electronics for Outstanding Sound

Loaded with Taylor's Expression System 2 (ES2) pickup design and custom "pro-audio-grade" preamp, the amplified voice of this AD24ce Grand Auditorium is clean, clear and responsive. The behind-the-saddle design of the pickup means that there's nothing between the saddle and bridge, so no nuance of vibration is lost, and the full dynamic range of the guitar is accurately reproduced, either through an amplifier or direct into the board. The simple-to-use volume, and active bass and treble controls are placed for easy access on the upper shoulder of the guitar.

Precision in Construction for Lifelong Quality

Taylor was one of the first guitar builders to fully appreciate what the world of digitally controlled tooling was capable of in improving consistency in the building of fine acoustic instruments. Part of their reputation is based on the quality of fit and finish in all their guitars, as well as the evenness and consistency of tone from one to the next. The Taylor Special-Edition AD24ce Grand Auditorium is a shining example of Taylor's commitment to bringing together technology and tradition to build guitars that sound, play and feel like nothing else.
