Had to save the E string

I got these strings about a week ago with high hopes of a different sound, I got it! I almost didn't though, While I was putting the last string(E) on, the inner wire broke on me in the middle of winding it on the post. Lucky for me though I had enough slack on the string to save it. I hope it dosn't slip on me in the middle of a jam down the line. The sound on the other hand is great! I love the smooth tone as well as the feel of the strings. I will be getting these again with hopes that they don't break on me like they did this time. Would recomend!!

I recently perchased these strings from GC, shipping was excellent, fast delivery with standard ground service. The strings are amazing, i've been playing fender flatwounds for about a year with no problems, decided to try these since they have a thicker gauge. Absolutely love them, no more twang on the G string. I did have to readjust the bridge since i play with a low action. I used Fast Fret string cleaner on them after installing. plays and sounds great. I am going to get a few more sets as back ups.

I bought this strings three months ago and as I am a heavy metal fan I just thought, Steve Harris strings might rock as soon as they arrived I installed the gauge on my Squier Precision Bass and had a lot of fun for the following month, as it was time to change the strings I took them out to try some Dr. Strings gauge and noticed that my bass was fledged, I used regular tuning as I believe this is what's on Maiden's songs, the strings sound nice but I'm not buying it again because of the fledged bass.

I use these Steve Harris signature strings almost exclusively since I stumbled upon them a couple years ago. I use a Ric 4003 and a beefed up older Peavey P-Bass, and these strings are perfect for playing fast. They're heavier than average strings, which is good, especially if you pluck/pick fast, and also great for lower tuning. I had a problem with "string squawk" for years, and these DRASTICALLY helped that issue. Flatwounds are normally very dull sounding, but these are comparable to a nickel/steel roundwound in terms of brightness and clarity, not too shrill but more than enough to cut through, plus they have tons of punch! One word of advice, if you're gonna get these, make sure you have your guitar set up for them since they are heavier than normal, they can pull on your neck pretty hard (especially in standard tuning) and you'll most likely need a nut routing to fit them properly, but its WELL worth it. BUY THESE STRINGS!!
