Description
Martin Guitars is thrilled to introduce the SC-13E Road Series acoustic-electric guitar. Boasting Martin's most innovative design concepts to date, the SC-13E delivers unprecedented comfort, playability and versatility. At its heart is a solid spruce top and koa back and sides, producing the robust, balanced tone that Martin is renowned for. The offset S-shaped body and low-profile neck maximize ergonomics, allowing extended play with ease. The heel-less design and sloped bridge provide unfettered access across the fretboard, ideal for complex fingerstyle or soaring leads.
Advanced Fishman Electronics for Unparalleled Tonal Control
Martin partnered with Fishman to develop the custom MX-T pickup system, providing an unparalleled level of tone shaping. Intuitive volume, EQ and blend controls let you dial in the perfect sound for any musical scenario. The EQ knob scoops out midrange frequencies for an open, airy quality or restores neutral mids for a rich, full tone. The blend control balances the under-saddle pickup with an internal body sensor to add robustness or crispness. Powered by a 9V battery, the MX-T system ensures your SC-13E is ready to shine on stage or in the studio.
Innovative Offset S-Shaped Body Maximizes Comfort and Playability
The offset S-shaped body is a revolution in ergonomic design. Its asymmetrical contours naturally conform to the player's body, eliminating discomfort during long practice or performance sessions. A 1.5" body depth and tapered perimeter provide a lightweight feel, enhanced resonance and impressive projection. The cutaway allows unfettered access to higher frets for ambitious soloing or complex chording. Whether strumming chords or fingerpicking intricate passages, the SC-13E's revolutionary shape keeps the focus on the music.
Low-Profile Neck and Heel-less Design Provides Effortless Access Across the Fretboard
The SC-13E's low-profile neck and heel-less design provide an unencumbered playing experience. The neck's velocity taper and 19-fret configuration blend the tension of a long scale length with the comfort of a short scale. The heel-less neck joint and sloped bridge stay out of the way of the player's hand, enabling helical rotation and natural hand positions across the fretboard. The low action and slim nut width appeal to electric players transitioning to acoustic. Complex chords, rapid leads and extended soloing have never felt so effortless.
Premium Solid Spruce Top and Koa Back and Sides Produce Legendary Martin Tone
The SC-13E owes its robust, balanced tone to a solid Sitka spruce top and koa back and sides. Spruce yields a broad dynamic range, crisp articulation and bell-like chime. Koa provides a rich midrange and warm bass complemented by shimmering overtones. Martin's signature X-bracing and mortise-and-tenon neck joint ensure structural integrity and enhance resonance. The result is a full, complex voice with projection that fills any room. For over 180 years, Martin has set the standard for acoustic excellence. The SC-13E upholds this tradition with an innovative spirit.
